Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump over his recent Mar-a-Lago comment in Texas and said that the president was completely out of touch. Kimmel said that the president was basically telling supporters that they could not afford to eat at his private club, even while speaking to a crowd that had come to see him wearing Chinese-made American flag Hawaiian suits. He questioned why the president would say something like that in public and how it was supposed to help his campaign.

Kimmel mocked the president and said that he and his wealthy friends were so rich that ordinary people could not afford to dine with them or even be able to pay for parking there. He added that Trump appeared completely disconnected from regular Americans and remarked that was probably a good thing.

Kimmel took another swipe at the president and said that whenever he did get too close to people, it was often unwanted. He also mocked Trump for proudly talking about how he personally selected all the marble used in the White House.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host played Trump's Texas rally speech in which the president said that he would support a proposal that would give every adult American $5,000. The president joked that with his promised $5,000, American adults would only be able to buy a hamburger, and perhaps a small dessert, at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. After the clip ended, the comedian raised some questions.

"Why are you saying this out loud? Why are you telling these people who gathered to see you in their Chinese-made American flag Hawaiian shirts that they can't afford to eat at your house? How is that helping you?"

Kimmel criticized the president's comment and said that it sounded like a wealthy person living a luxury life was saying that. He joked that Trump's lifestyle was so expensive that most Americans could not afford to eat with him and might not even be able to pay for a parking fee at his club. The comedian then joked,

"He's completely out of touch. And that's probably for the best. When he is in touch, it's usually without consent."

Kimmel made the remark as a sarcastic joke while criticizing the president for being disconnected from the financial struggles of ordinary Americans. After mocking the president's remarks about what $5,000 could buy at Mar-a-Lago, Kimmel argued that the president appeared out of touch with everyday people. Then, he added that this was probably a good thing because, in his perspective, the president's past interaction with others had often sparked controversy.

Earlier, the president made similar promises about giving direct financial help to Americans, but those plans never came through. According to the Washington Post, he said that 33 million Medicare beneficiaries would receive $200 prescription drug cards within a few weeks. However, the cards were never sent out, and the promised benefit was never delivered.
