Apart from Clayface, another popular Batman "villain" is getting adapted: Poison Ivy. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy started off as a member of The Dark Knight's rogues' gallery, but today, she is more of a supporting character and sometimes even an ally. Therefore, it makes sense that DC is considering producing a TV series focusing on her.As of now, we don't know the continuity in which the series will be set, but we know that The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc will serve as the producer of the Pamela Isley series. This news has prompted divisive reactions amongst fans, as they believe that this series could be set in the DCU continuity, i.e., the same one as Clayface. This news prompted one fan who thought that the series is a part of the DCU to comment:"So, where's batman?"Why are fans not enthusiastic about the Poison Ivy series? The reason fans are not that fond of this news is that some believe that this series is set as part of the DCU. As of now, it should be noted that the DCU has not cast its Batman yet. We got a glimpse of the DCU Batman only once in Creature Commandos Season 1, but it was only a silhouette in the animated series. Moreover, the script for The Brave and the Bold, the movie featuring the DCU Batman, is not complete yet. Therefore, many fans are not keen on DC Studios considering adapting a solo project featuring Poison Ivy, while the solo Batman project is stuck in development:"Anything besides Batman at this point huh Gunn?"Another fan compared this with Sony's Spider-Man villain spin-off movies without the wall-crawler:"This sounding a lot like the Sony approach. Something to do with batman I think..."However, one fan did defend this move by DC by typing out this comment:"Where's Batman" we have like 10 Batman solo films, just watch all those. Nobody knew who Iron Man was until 2008 and people loved that so why isn't DC allowed to make movies and series on characters who aren't as big as others? I love Batman just as much as everyone else but there's a difference between being a comic book fan and being a Batman fan. Fake fans"It seems that except for a few, most of the fan reactions seem to be not so keen on a Poison Ivy series. This apathetic reaction is based on the lack of movement in The Brave and the Bold movie. What do we know about the Pamela Isley series? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe only thing we know about the series is that Lauren LeFranc is involved in it. Apart from that, we don't know anything about the solo Pamela Isley show. LeFranc's involvement could also hint that we may not get The Penguin Season 2 after all, or even if it happens, the second season might happen without her involvement. Moreover, we also know that despite Lauren LeFranc's participation, the series is not a part of Matt Reeves' The Batman continuity. Deadline confirmed this in its report. However, it is also possible that Poison Ivy could be set in a different universe under DC Studios' "Elseworlds" label. As for the DCU Batman, James Gunn had confessed last year that he was struggling with developing the project:"Batman’s my biggest issue in all of DC right now, personally. I’m not writing Batman, but I am working with the writer of Batman and trying to get it right, because he’s incredibly important to DC, as is Wonder Woman. So outside of the stuff that I’m doing in the projects that are actively going, our two priorities are finishing our Wonder Woman and our Batman scripts."Would you be okay with a Poison Ivy solo series?
