After spending an entire season teasing devastating consequences for its characters, the Euphoria Season 3 finale finally delivers on that promise. The last episode of the series is packed with violent showdowns, betrayals, and the characters constantly struggling while trying to set things right.
However, not every story has a happy ending as the finale brought multiple deaths: Laurie dies during the DEA raid, Alamo is killed by Alie at the end, and then comes the biggest shock when Rue’s long struggle with addiction ends in tragedy after a fentanyl-laced overdose.
As for Maddy, Cassie, Lexi, and others, they're all trying to move on. They saw how Rue's story ended tragically and promised each other to share their problems and solve them, instead of keeping things to themselves until the situation worsens.

Did Rue die in Euphoria Season 3? Her tragic ending explained

Yes, Rue dies in Euphoria Season 3 finale following a fentanyl overdose. After she received help from Alamo in escaping from Laurie's trap, Rue was also praised and awarded with money. However, the moment Alamo gave her Percocet pills, she knew he wanted her to continue being dependent on him.
Little did Rue know that Alamo had already planned her end. While she was at Ali's apartment, Rue had visions of her mother. She saw herself reuniting with her and finding happiness.
Not only this, but Rue also learned that Fez was out of prison, so she wanted to find him. The last episode featured the late Angus Cloud through memories of Rue, making her farewell even more painful. Before Ali could return home, Rue was dead. He found her dead body and asked God to bless her with peace.
Who died in the Euphoria Season 3 finale besides Rue?

Rue's death is the most devastating parts of Euphoria Season 3, but she's not the only one who dies in the finale. Here's a look at the other characters who died in the last episode:
1) Alamo

Alamo was the kingpin in Season 3 and also the main villain who trapped Rue in his deadly world. He always doubted Rue and even put her life at risk when his doubts intensified.
And even when Rue got the stolen items back from Laurie's place, Alamo did not trust her. He was the one who gave Rue those pills that caused her death. These events left a big impact on Ali, and he decided that people like Alamo must face the consequences of their actions.
As a result, Ali takes his gun out and goes to Alamo's club. There, he confronts his men and thanks Bishop, who unexpectedly betrayed Alamo by taking bullets out of his boss' gun.
So, when Alamo pulls the trigger, he's shocked that there's no bullet inside. This gives Ali the chance to shoot him and end Alamo's life in Euphoria Season 3.

2) Laurie

Laurie is Alamo's rival, who also dies in Euphoria Season 3 finale. Unlike Alamo, Laurie took her own life by committing suicide. She knew that the DEA was there and they would soon arrest her.
The DEA planned the whole raid at her place, and just when they were about to start, Laurie ended her life. At the same time, Wayne and Faye escaped while other men had to face the consequences.
Does Ali die in Euphoria? What happened to Maddy, Cassie and other survivors?

Ali survives the finale of Euphoria Season 3. After finding Rue dead from a fentanyl-laced overdose, he is devastated but quickly realizes something is wrong with the pills she took. Testing them confirms they contained fentanyl.
Months later, he admits that grief pushed him into a brief relapse and announces that he is stepping away from the recovery group he has been leading for years. Then, he goes to Alamo's club, and after a violent shootout, he manages to kill him.
Later, Ali goes to the house where Rue lived with a religious family. During her memory, Ali sees a happy Rue, suggesting she's at peace now.
Maddy: She also survives the finale. However, Maddy remains tied to the financial problems created by Nate and Alamo, but Alamo's death frees her from that dangerous situation and gives her a chance to move forward.
Cassie: After losing her husband and acting career, Cassie is back to building her OnlyFans account. At the same time, she's dealing with grief and pain.
Lexi: She spends much of the finale reflecting on Rue's death and her own regrets. Reading the Bible Rue left behind helps her make sense of everything and focus on moving ahead.
Jules: She's also alive in Euphoria Season 3 and paints a picture of Rue while remembering her with tears in her eyes.
