All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 Episode 7 wrapped up with a Christmas special (Comfort and Joy) on PBS Masterpiece this Sunday. The episode was no less than a bittersweet emotional ride. From a joyous Christmas celebration to Hilda's tragic death to the arrival of an unexpected guest, the episode keeps you hooked till the end.

Maimie McCoy, who plays Dorothy, Siegfried's old flame, returns to Darrowby in All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 Episode 7. She was introduced in the debut season of All Creatures Great and Small as Mrs. Hall's (Anna Madeley) friend. She cheered her up whenever she felt low. Gradually, Siegfried develops a crush on her. She knew that Siegfried had to move on from the death of his wife and give love a second chance. Siegfried tried to bury his emotions for her, and she gradually left for Malta. However, Dorothy's return in Season 6's Christmas special episode left Siegfried stunned. He wasn't sure how to process it. Eventually, he realised that he still had feelings for her (with, of course, Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Hall's help).

Maimie McCoy is a versatile talent. She's an actor and a producer. You might know her as Gemma from The Couple Next Door or as Lucienne Hassell in Van der Valk. Here's more about it.

Yes, after Dorothy returns to Darrowby, after a few initial hiccups, Siegfried realises his feelings for her, and they get together by the end of the episode. Here's what happens. Dorothy returns to Darrowby for the first time post-war. Mrs. Hall is elated to have her friend back. She shares that she intends to go to Suderland after Christmas. However, when Siegfried sees Dorothy, he's too stunned to react. Their initial conversations are awkward, but Dorothy makes an effort. She teaches him to throw a dart and even almost forcefully accompanies him to Mrs. Stokes' farm.

Mrs. Hall asks whether Siegfried invited Dorothy to the Drovers. Mrs. Hall worries that Siegfried might spend his entire life looking for love when it might be right under his nose. In a way, she encourages Siegfried to reunite with Dorothy.

Upon Hilda's tragic death, Siegfried realizes he needs to confess his feelings before it's too late. He rushes to Skeldale House, rings up Doroth,y and invites her to Drovers. They finally meet at the Drovers and share a kiss under the mistletoe. In a candid chat with Express, Anna Madeley spoke about her co-star Maimie McCoy. She said:

"It was brilliant because she is wonderful and we hadn't seen her, she has been off doing Van der Valk and things. For Mrs Hall having her oldest, dearest friend rocking up at the back door out of the blue is just extraordinary. "
