The Boys Season 5 will premiere next Wednesday, and therefore, fans are hyped for the upcoming season of the dark superhero satire series, which is also its final one. Fans are wondering about what's going to happen next as Homelander is at the helm of all affairs, as the first episode of The Boys Season 5 will drop on Prime Video next Wednesday.

The cast and crew doing the press rounds have been clear that we will see a lot of characters, including fan favorites, die. This has fans speculating about all the characters they may see dying throughout eight episodes of the series. Therefore, here are a few possible candidates marked for death in The Boys Season 5.

Here are all the possible deaths in The Boys Season 5 if it follows the comics:

Here are some of the characters who may meet their end in the fifth season:

  • A-Train

Jessie T. Usher's version of A-Train/Reggie Franklin is way different from his comic book counterpart. The A-Train in the comics is one of the more irredeemable characters, who is killed by Hughie. However, the series slowly built A-Train's turn, and by the time of the Gen V Season 2 finale, he had joined the resistance. But his death in The Boys Season 5 could be a gut punch, as Reggie's life is cut short.

  • Black Noir II

Black Noir from the first season already died in the season 3 finale, as Homelander kills the silent supe for never talking about Soldier Boy. However, The Boys Season 4 revealed that the team still has Black Noir, who is revealed to be a new hire. Moreover, this version of Black Noir can talk, but he continues to maintain the mystique of his predecessor by not talking.

This new version of Black Noir is just a henchman, unlike his predecessor, who was respected by even Homelander. Therefore, his death in the upcoming season would not be a major moment. In the comics, there is only one Black Noir, who is revealed to be a Homelander clone and is ultimately killed by Butcher.

  • Billy Butcher

We already know that Butcher is marked for death, as the closing minutes of The Boys Season 3 reveal that Billy is diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, it is not a question of "if" but rather "when". Moreover, the events of the season 4 finale see Butcher surrendering to his darker half as he prepares to carry out the supe genocide using the virus.

In the comics, Butcher is the last-minute villain, who almost carries out a supe genocide that kills not only The Seven but also innocent supes, including his own allies. Hughie stops Butcher by finally killing him.

  • Mother's Milk (M.M.)

Butcher kills M.M. by throwing a grenade on his face and then smothering him. Butcher does so because M.M. was on his way to carry out a brutal supe genocide, something that may happen in The Boys Season 5 as well. Laz Alonso had this bleak warning in a recent Collider interview:

"I'll tell you one thing: Fair warning, don't get too attached."
  • Love Sausage

We met Love Sausage in the third season, but the show's version of the character is very different than his comic counterpart. In The Boys comic, he is one of the heroic supes on Butcher's side. But despite that, Butcher kills him as the former tries carrying out the supe genocide. "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite" is the title of The Boys Season 5 premiere, which is also a reference to a Love Sausage-centric issue.

  • Homelander

No death in The Boys Season 5 could be more satisfying than that of Homelander. In the comics, as mentioned earlier, it is hinted that Homelander, while a jerk, might not have committed all the atrocities, as Black Noir, who is revealed to be his clone, committed them. Homelander, who sees the images of these events, has no recollection of doing them, but believes that he is guilty.

Despite this revelation, Butcher murders both Homelander and the Homelander clone, Black Noir, in The Boys comic. However, Prime Video series ignores this twist as the third season reveals the original Black Noir as a person of color. Homelander has killed the original version of Black Noir, and he doesn't respect the new one like his predecessor.

Moreover, this version of Homelander is clearly irredeemable, as he gave the following speech in the Season 4 finale, which sets up The Boys Season 5:

"Thank you, Mr. President. Victoria Neuman, she was a great American. And a dear, dear friend. Murdered in cold blood by deep-state Starlighters embedded in our own government. Now that we have full legal authority, a veritable army of superheroes will be called upon to rout these traitors from our government and from our streets. America will be safe again. And to the Starlighters, whatever rock you’re hiding under, we’re coming for you. I’m coming for you. Because today… …a new age of superheroes begins."

  • Frenchie and Kimiko

Butcher booby-traps The Boys' headquarters is filled with explosives and leaves in the comics, which go off as Frenchie and the Female (Kimiko is not given a name in The Boys comic) enter the HQ. Both of them die as the building falls on both of them; however, it is unclear if the Prime Video series will adapt the same moment, if the couple will die somewhere else, or if they will die at all.

  • Ryan Butcher

Ryan was believed to be the only one who could take down Homelander for good, but he doesn't want to take down Homelander. But he does realize that his father might not be that good in the season 4 finale. Ryan ultimately leaves his father in the final episode of the fourth season. But we don't know what happened to him after that.

Therefore, we will learn more as The Boys Season 5 returns to our screens next week.

"In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen."

The Boys Season 5 will premiere with two episodes on Prime Video next Wednesday, April 08, 2026.
