Former Fox Business associate producer Jennifer Eckhart sued former Fox News anchor Ed Henry in 2020, as reported by Deadline on September 21, 2026. She alleged he sexually assaulted her while both worked at the network.

The lawsuit resurfaced this week after Eckhart died at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, on September 19, 2026, at age 36. Her death was confirmed by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, according to media reports.

Deadline noted that Eckhart's suit also accused Fox News of failing to protect her. A federal judge dismissed the network from the case in March 2025. Henry, who denied the allegations and maintained the relationship was consensual, settled with Jennifer Eckhart in June 2025.

Following the settlement, Eckhart said she had turned "pain into purpose" as noted by HOLA!. She continued advocating for trauma survivors through her nonprofit and podcast.

More about why Jennifer Eckhart sued Ed Henry

Jennifer Eckhart filed her lawsuit against Ed Henry in 2020, alleging he had sexually assaulted her while both worked at Fox, and that he took photographs of her for what she described as blackmail purposes, according to the report by Hola!.

The report stated that Fox News fired Henry in July 2020 following an internal investigation into her complaint. The network said the investigation found he had engaged in willful sexual misconduct.

Eckhart's suit also named Fox News as a defendant. She accused the network of failing to protect her and retaliating by firing her. Deadline noted that the network said her termination was unrelated to the complaint.

A federal judge dismissed Fox News from the case in March 2025, a decision later upheld on appeal, according to Deadline.

According to Hola!, Ed Henry denied Eckhart's allegations, maintaining their relationship was consensual. He separately sued Fox News for defamation in 2021 after his firing; that lawsuit was dismissed in 2022. Eckhart and Henry settled her lawsuit in June 2025, days before they went to trial.

Hola! also noted how Eckhart described the litigation as an "exhaustive, retraumatizing, five-year legal battle," and said she felt a weight lift from her shoulders.
