Bridgerton Season 4 comes alive with a fresh storyline diving into the growing relationship between Benedict and Sophie.
Their contrasting nature, along with Sophie’s backstory, leaves an impact right away. However, besides the fresh storyline of this season, the addition of the new faces to the “ton” adds a layer of intrigue.
Sophie Baek’s life is filled with difficulties. Her main difficulties arise because of Lady Penwood. Lady Penwood refuses to give Sophie any respect and makes her work tirelessly throughout the day. Lady Penwood takes on an antagonistic role in Bridgerton Season 4. It must also be noted that Lady Penwood looks quite familiar, especially to the fans of the Harry Potter movies.
Familiarity of Lady Penwood in Bridgerton Season 4
Lady Penwood’s presence in Bridgerton Season 4 has been quite an intense one. From the moment she arrives on screen, she grabs the attention of the viewers with her blunt remarks, along with a condescending air. It cannot be denied that she is indeed a character with many layers, which will further be unfolded as the series progresses.

However, besides the intrigue that Lady Penwood has already created, appreciation must be given to the very talented Katie Leung for bringing Lady Penwood’s character to life this season. Though Katie Leung completely embodies Lady Penwood’s character, depicting the nuances of her character in a distinct manner, the sharp eyes of the fans were able to catch the familiarity.
Besides the Harry Potter movies, Katie Leung also took on many other projects, depicting her acting prowess. Some of her other projects include Locked Down, Annika, The Wheel of Time, etc. In Bridgerton Season 4, Lady Penwood’s primary focus is to get her daughter married to Benedict. She has a sharp intellect and observation skills.

She is also equipped with the ability to give witty responses every time she finds herself in a difficult situation. In the first episode of the fourth season of Bridgerton, she comes across Violet. Her replies to her questions make Violet quite uncomfortable. After throwing Sophie out, she creates chaos by bribing other maids, creating a crisis for the other households.
Lady Penwood’s goal is to get her eldest daughter, Rosamund, married to Benedict. She is extremely focused on her goal, so when she understands that Sophie might create a hindrance in her daughter’s path, she throws her out of their house, promising to make her life further difficult.
At the end of the fourth episode of this season, Lady Penwood moves to a house closer to the Bridgertons. Hence, in the upcoming episodes of the series, Sophie’s path will be troubled further by Lady Penwood.
This season comes with a total of eight episodes. The remaining four episodes of this season will drop on February 26 at 12:00 AM PT. It cannot be denied that the intertwining storylines of the first part of this season set the stage for the further intense moments that are about to arrive in the second part, especially Benedict and Sophie’s storyline. Alice reluctantly becoming the Queen’s lady-in-waiting is also an intriguing storyline that the viewers are looking forward to, besides Violet and Marcus’s storyline.
