Widow's Bay returned to our screens this week with the eighth episode, "Your Baggage". The episode begins on a rather happier note as the townsfolk believe that the curse is gone for good, given how last week's episode ended. However, two more episodes are left in the series, and our heroes might be celebrating a bit early.Over the course of this 35-minute episode, they realize that everything might not be well with the town as the infamous Widow's Bay curse might very well be alive. The official logline of the episode reads:"Don't worry about misplaced luggage. However, last week's Widow's Bay episode ended with Evan learning that his mother survived his birth, and we see him confronting his father about it. However, before this scene, we see our characters at their happiest in the first act.Tom, Wyck, and Patricia have a satisfying breakfast on the morning after Richard Warren's death the previous night (events of the seventh episode). The town is thriving, as many believe that the curse is dead, and Tom celebrates this by buying tickets to watch a sporting event.Tom, upon reaching home, is confronted by Evan about the lie that his mother died in childbirth. Turns out, Evan's mother suffered a stroke while giving birth due to preeclampsia. Tom tells the truth that she was never the same after that stroke, and died some time later. Evan has some more questions for which Tom has no answers.However, Tom has an answer to one question: Why can't they leave Widow's Bay? As a distraught Wyck is leaving the museum, he notices that the Boogeyman mask is not there. Following his hunch, Wyck visits the Boogeyman's house and finds the door open, making him realize that something sinister is afoot.Meanwhile, the Boogeyman attacks Patricia, and things look dire as he is about to deliver the killing blow on her. He even injures Sheriff Bechir in the process, but Patricia shoots him. Patricia visits him at the hospital when he is recovering and learns some wonderful news. The sheriff and his wife are expecting a baby. The couple is reluctant to reveal this publicly, given the situation surrounding Tom's wife. As Tom and Evan are planning their upcoming trip, the two hear a knock on the door. It is none other than Wyck who informs Tom that the curse is not dead, and that the town woke up the Boogeyman after Richard's death in last week's episode.This revelation sets up the tone for next week's episode that will see Wyck, Tom, and Patricia brainstorm the ways to end the curse.Widow's Bay Episode 8 is currently streaming on Apple TV.
