56 Days turned out to be the latest erotic thriller TV series of 2026 that stars Dove Cameron as Ciara Wyse and Avan Jogia as Oliver Kennedy as the main figures of the story. It follows the 2021 novel by Catherine Ryan Howard, but there have been changes while adapting the series.

One major change in this series is that of taking place in lockdown-era Dublin like the book, the events take place in modern-day Boston. Not only this, but the ending of the show has also been altered to align with other changes to the plot.

Since the series is being widely discussed by viewers online, many might wonder if it has been renewed. As of February 2026, there's no confirmation of 56 Days Season 2. Prime Video hasn't released any official statement about whether the show will continue or end.

The story begins with Ciara deliberately entering the life of wealthy architect Oliver under a false identity. The two then start an intense relationship after meeting in Boston and even move in together.

On the outside, it looks like they're a happy and honest couple. But deep down, they both know that they're hiding dark secrets from each other. The main plot begins when a dead body is found at Oliver's apartmnet and we gradually learn about the actual reason why Ciara came into his life.

It's been only one day since 56 Days arrived on Prime Video, and many fans might start thinking whether the story will continue or not. As mentioned earlier, there's no official confirmation of a Season 2 of 56 Days. The series is categorized as a limited miniseries, which means there are no or very few chances of a renewal.

It only has eight episodes, with each running for about an hour. Here are the reasons why a renewal is unlikely:

Timing: It’s extremely early. Streaming services typically wait anywhere from two to six weeks (sometimes longer) before making renewal decisions.

Reception so far: Early reactions fall in the middle range rather than being overwhelmingly positive. The series sits around a 6.1/10 user score on IMDb. Reportedly, the series does not break new ground, which is something drama lovers are always looking for.

Story: By the end of 56 Days, viewers get all the answers. Megan, aka Ciara and Oliver escaped in the end and even started a whole new journey with their first child.

That said, interest from viewers exists. Some fans immediately demanded another season online. Additionally, actors Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia were asked about a potential Season 2 of 56 Days in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, to which they explained that the cast and creators would consider it if viewership numbers were strong enough.

If the series performs strongly enough in its early streaming run, a continuation could happen even though the original story is already complete. The easiest continuation would pick up after the beach ending, where they are trying to live a happy life but are increasingly worried about being caught.

As a result of this pressure, they could have a serious strain on their relationship and possibly return to previous manipulations or dangerous habits. Another option for a storyline could focus on the consequences of their past.

Those who were affected by Megan and Oliver might start chasing this duo, creating a big problem. And now that they even have a son, their journey could be extremely dangerous.

A time jump is also possible, in which the focus is on the son, trying to find out about his parents' past. Overall, if there's a continuation of 56 Days, the series would likely keep the same core ingredients: intense romance, deception, and constant suspense about whether their past will finally catch up with them.
