Alchemy of Souls is among those standout K-dramas that the fans keep coming back to. Written by the renowned Hong Sisters, the K-drama premiered in 2022 and wrapped up in 2023, with the release of the finale of Part 2.
Alchemy of Souls revolved around the story of young mages living in a fictional place called Daeho. Their lives get entangled due to the forbidden magic of soul-swapping, which causes chaos in their lives. While fans might want to see another season of Jang-uk and Nak-su's adventure together, there is no official confirmation from either tvN or Netflix about Alchemy of Souls being renewed for a Season 3.
The finale of Season 2 perfectly tied up all the loose ends and revealed the fate of all the characters. Therefore, a Season 3 of the beloved K-drama might not happen in the case of this K-drama starring Go Youn-jung.

Will Alchemy of Souls Season 3 happen? Speculations explored
Alchemy of Souls tells the story of young mages from Daeho. The K-drama follows the story of Nak-su, a warrior, who swaps her soul with a commoner and meets Jang-uk, a man from a noble family of Daehon. To hide her identity from everyone around, she agrees to become Jang-uk's servant, Mu-deok, and also teaches him her own techniques of magic. While doing so, the duo falls in love. However, their love story is not as simple as they face threats from all around, who want to kill Nak-su.
In Season 2, the stories of these characters get more complicated as it is revealed that Nak-su did not switch her soul with a commoner but the oldest daughter of the Jinwoyeon family, who decides to keep her hidden from the world, especially from Jang-uk, who thinks she died. However, as greater threats begin to loom around Daehon, it becomes important for these young mages to unite and stop Jin-mu and others who want to unleash the firebird relic, which would destroy Daehon.
At the end, it is Jang-uk and Nak-su, now Jin Bu-yeon, who stop the havoc of the firebird unleashed by Jin-mu. Later, near the end of Alchemy of Souls, it is shown that Ho-gyeong has accepted Nak-su as Bu-yeon and Jang-uk, and the latter are still married and live a happy life together while hunting the magical relics that were freed from Jinwoyeon's relic cave.
Along with them, all the important characters' storylines had also ended on a happy note. Therefore, Season 3 of Alchemy of Souls might not hit the screens anytime soon. Furthermore, so far, there has been no official news about the renewal of the acclaimed tvN K-drama.
Along with Go-youn-jung, the fan-favorite K-drama also stars Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Study Group's Hwang Min-hyun, Joo Sang-wook, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra, Yoo In-soo, and Do Sang-woo, among several others.
