All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 is currently streaming on PBS Masterpiece. The show is gearing up for the finale episode. Imogen Clawson portrays Jenny Alderson, Helen's enthusiastic younger sister, in All Creatures Great and Small. Their sisterly bond matured over the seasons.

In Episode 4 of All Creatures Great and Small Season 6, Jenny receives her nursing college acceptance letter from London. After being torn between choices, she finally decides to take the opportunity after Helen and their father, Richard, encourage her. Helen accompanies her to London to help her settle down.

Since her plot is shifting from Darrowby to London, many viewers have been left wondering whether Jenny would ever return. Jenny Alderson will be back in Darrowby soon. Even though she's not present for the latter half of All Creatures Great and Small Season 6, she will return in the upcoming seasons.

Rachel Shenton, who portrays her elder sister Helen, did not appear in Episodes 5 and 6. Shenton was on a maternity break. She is expected to appear in the Christmas special episode of Season 6. Here's more about it.

Yes, Imogen Clawson, who plays Jenny Alderson, will be back in All Creatures Great and Small. Jenny briefly left for her nursing college in London in Episode 4 of Season 6, but she remains a pivotal part of the story.

Jenny represents the hopeful and aspirational youth during post-war times who chose a dream beyond rural life. Jenny accepting the opportunity was an essential shift for her character. It proves how, even though she's afraid of the big move, she is eager to learn, grow, and find her own path beyond the farm and veterinary life that she grew up in.

Helen has been a mother figure to Jenny all her life, and thus her being anxious was valid. But gradually, Helen accepts the reality and respects Jenny's aspirations. In the end, when Jenny expresses her fear, Helen motivates her. They finally leave for London with Little Rosie.

Later, Helen and little Rosie return to Darrowby. Even though Imogen Clawson is not present in the latter half of Season 6, she will return as Jenny Alderson in the upcoming seasons, as per reports.

Here's what a Paramount Media Networks representative said to Reach Publications (via Daily Express):

"Jenny Alderson is currently studying in London but continues to be an important part of the All Creatures Great and Small family and a core character in the show."

Rachel Shenton praises her All Creatures Great and Small co-star Imogen Clawson

Helen and Jenny's mother passed away when Jenny was a toddler, so Helen took up the responsibility of raising Jenny. Their relationship matured over the seasons. Thus, when the realization hit Helen that Jenny might be leaving Darrowby forever, she hesitated for a while. Helen thought her little sister wasn't ready for the move.

Helen found their heirloom patchwork blanket while finding a towel for Jenny, and she was reminded of her old memories. She sewed a patch for Jenny and passed on the blanket to her. Helen finally realized, over some heartfelt instances, that Jenny needs to move out to achieve her goals. So when Jenny thought of backing down, Helen motivated her and accompanied her to London.

In a candid chat with Masterpiece, Rachel Shenton praises her co-star and onscreen sister Imogen Clawson, saying,

"Oh, she's gorgeous, absolutely lovely. She's a joy to be around. She's so bright, and a pleasure on and off set, and to see her grow as an actor. We catch up on life as well as work, and so we've got that relationship, which is really lovely."

Episode 7 drops on February 22, 2026, on PBS Masterpiece at 9 PM ET.
