Will Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale Season 3 happen? Possibilities explored

Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale is one of the most underrated supernatural shows on AMC. Premiered first in 2024, the series follows the story of a mother and daughter named Sarah and Harper Fenn, who live in a small town called Sanctuary in England.

Both Harper and Sarah are revealed to be witches and want to live a life without restrictions for people like them. However, in Season 2 of Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale, they face several challenges because of this, as Angela, the mayor of Sanctuary, does not like witches and tries to ruin their lives. The season ended with Sarah and her daughter Harper being separated, hinting at more drama ahead. However, AMC has not renewed Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale for Season 3 yet, and we have to wait for an update on whether the show will return or not.

Will Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale Season 3 happen?

In Season 2 of AMC's Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale, Angela tries to create problems for the witches by bringing new laws against them, which will reveal their identity to everyone, making it easy to scrutinise them. Sarah does not like the idea, as she has protected Harper so far by hiding the fact that she is a witch. But in the end, the truth becomes public.

Season 2 also saw Harper's father, Lachlan's return. As the show moves on, more about Lachlan, whom Sarah had not seen in 10 years, is revealed. It was Harper who learns first that her father was the one who was protecting Luka, Angela's son, who had been murdering people around the town.

But still, at the end, Sarah lets him take Harper with him, trusting him with their child's safety, as she did not want to get Harper registered as a witch. Furthermore, Maggie also finds herself in trouble as she loses her job for hiding Harper's being a witch.

Therefore, with Maggie losing her job, Sarah becoming the leader of the Moot, which she initially refuses, and the mother-daughter duo separated, a Season 3 for Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale needs to happen, to give the viewers a glimpse of how Sarah leads the Moot and whether Maggie will return to help her in her fight.

While AMC has not officially confirmed a Season 3 of Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale yet, we might still have to wait a while, as the announcement of the renewal of Season 2 also came months after the premiere of the Season 1 finale.

Although Season 3 has not been confirmed yet, there is still so much storyline left to cover, especially with Lachlan's return and him taking Harper with him. With Lachlan's return and the new laws brought by Angela in Sanctuary, a greater conflict might arise in the town, where the witches would have to defend themselves. Since there is no news of Season 3 yet, these are only theories about the potential upcoming Season.
