Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 ending puts the Russos to the test

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 has officially come to an end with four new episodes released on August 4. More than anything, this season was about family finding its way back to each other.

Season 3 revolves around the Russo family as they deal with the fallout of Alex's disappearance. While everyone is looking for a way to bring her back home, Billie, on the other hand, makes a decision to free her father, Damien, from Wizcatraz after finding the truth about him.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 recap: Billie rescues Damien as Justin ends up trapped with Alex

Justin doesn't want to give up so easily after Alex disappears and tries his best to find a way to bring her back. As for Alex in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3, she keeps struggling to find her way back home and even meets Mason and Harper before her memories return.

On the other hand, viewers also see Billie learning the fact that Damien imprisoned himself in Wizcatraz, as he didn't want his father to be stronger. Thanks to her efforts, Damien finally gets free, but the plan doesn't go as smoothly as they thought, as Justin gets trapped in the monster realm. Though this also leads to him finally meeting his sister, Alex, which was happy news.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 finale recap: Alex tricks Lord Morsus and escapes with Justin

In Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3, episode 4, Alex helps Justin's hand get back to its original size. Alex asks about Billie, adding that she left her at WizTech and left her once again. Justin, to comfort her, tells her about her great quality of figuring things out no matter how hard the situation is.

Just when the two were talking, Lord Morsus appears in front of them and tries to destroy them. On the other hand, Roman and Winter repair Justin's quantum locator, and Damien and Billie escape and come back.

Alex and Justin try their best to keep themself safe from Lord Morsus. Just then, Damien opens the rift for them to come back. Alex sees an opportunity and tricks Lord Morsus with a dummy, giving her and Justin enough time to escape through the rift.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 3 ending explained: Were the Russos able to defeat Lord Morsus?

While the Russo family was just about to have their happy ending in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Lord Morsus had other plans as he created a rift and came to Russo's home and attacked the whole family. Using Justin's voice, he calls Billie, Alex, and Damien back to the house, but Billie immediately realizes something isn't right.

The three come face to face with Lord Morsus, where Lord Morsus says that Damien wouldn't have abandoned him if it wasn't for Alex. Damien defends Alex by saying that she instead showed who he actually was instead of stealing him away.

Just when Lord Morsus is about to kill them, Alex's mom strikes him with a lamp, breaking his control and bringing the family back to their senses. The family unites to strike back at Lord Morsus, but Billie shows kindness, saying she won't be giving up on him.

She talks to him, making him understand that he doesn't have to do this. But Morsus doesn't understand any of it and attacks them once again, only to get his own spell reflected at him by the family's magic as he gets destroyed. The season ends on a happy note with the Russo family finally reunited again.
