The comedian and TV host Seth Meyers made fun of Donald Trump's claim of becoming the first president who didn't take a single penny. He remarked,

"Well, may I say, worth every penny."

Meyers explained that the president would never want to gain money directly from the presidency and further pointed out that Trump had already sold items such as sneakers, a Bible, and crypto cologne. According to Meyers, if Trump introduced more products, the White House could easily look like a discount store.

The comedian also mentioned that Trump held a meeting on AI with leading technology executives, including Elon Musk, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Mark Zuckerberg, and others, and signed a directive to officially change the name of AI to SI. He concluded by saying that Trump had already renamed enough things and seems finished with that practice.

Does Donald Trump donate his salary to repair the White House?

MS Now mentioned that during Trump's first term, he donated his salary and complained that no story was ever written about it. Trump admitted that he even donated his salary when he won in his second term. On X, Aaron Rupar disputed Trump's claim of donating his salary to fix the White House.

Washington Examiner also claimed that Trump donates his salary to preserve the White House. According to the outlet, Trump said,

"I do, much of it goes to the White House preservation, and I fix things up."

The president's yearly pay is fixed by federal law at $400,000. In addition, there are allowances that include $50,000 for personal expenses, $100,000 for travel, and $19,000 for entertainment. Trump also revealed in a Truth Social post in August 2025 that he was almost the only president who chose to give away his salary.
