Yellowjackets Season 4 spoilers: Shauna’s darkest chapter, Jeff’s reunion and more

Yellowjackets Season 4 is just a month away from its release. Scheduled to release on November 20, 2026, the season will bring back Jasmin Savoy Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Hilary Swank, Christina Ricci, Sophie Nélisse, Sophie Thatcher, and Tawny Cypress to the cast.

According to Paramount+, Yellowjackets Season 4 will see the teens getting closer to being rescued from the wilderness. But getting home might not be as simple as they thought, especially with their actions of the past.

Meanwhile, the story also jumps to the present day, where one of the Yellowjackets' old flames returns to town with a secret motive. This also means that the adult survivors have their own problems waiting for them.

In a recent interview with The A.V. Club, co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson shared a few details about what's ahead in Yellowjackets Season 4. And their comments give viewers a better idea of where Shauna's story is headed, what happens with Jeff, and how the adult survivors deal with everything.

Yellowjackets Season 4 spoilers: Shauna faces the others

For Yellowjackets viewers, Shauna's story takes another dark turn as the people around her now seem to be turning against her. The trouble for Shauna only gets worse before the rescue. The other girls start questioning her actions, and from the details shared by A.V. Club, it looks like their anger toward her might turn physical too.

Speaking of Shauna, Nickerson told the outlet that a big part of her story is about losing her humanity. He added that the show wanted to explore her finding that humanity again, with Jeff playing an important role in it, through the statement:

"So much of the story is about Shauna losing her humanity. We wanted to explore her regaining or finding it again, and Jeff is a key component in that."

As revealed by co-creator Bart Nickerson, Jeff is going to play a huge part in Shauna's story in Yellowjackets Season 4. Viewers will see both versions of Shauna and Jeff dealing with a complicated relationship in Season 4. The younger Shauna and Jeff reconnect after she returns to New Jersey, while their adult versions are still separated.

However, their reunion comes with its own complications, as Jackie's ghost, who is connected to Jeff's past, still remains between them. For the adult timeline, things are far from easy, with Jeff and their daughter choosing to stay away from Shauna for now.

Speaking of their relationship, Ashley Lyle told the outlet that the creators love the way Shauna and Jeff are together, noting that Jeff has been struggling to handle everything for a long time. She described their bond as something that is "incredibly toxic yet tender."

Yellowjackets Season 4 spoilers: The adult characters split up

Season 4 naturally gives each adult character more focus as their stories start going in different directions, with each of them dealing with the pressure around them. Teasing the same, Nickerson exclusively told the outlet that the survivors are still dealing with the things they have lost while also trying to hold on to the people they believe they are. He added that this continues to add to the pressure they are already facing.

According to Ashley Lyle:

"They’re all together all the time once they crash, but now, they just naturally split up, so part of season four’s structure was dictated by that."

She further added that they wanted to explore how each character handles the situation in their own way and reacts differently to what is happening around them.

Yellowjackets Season 4 will premiere on November 20, 2026, on Paramount+.
