SNL UK reportedly roasted Donald Trump in the cold open debut and drew comparison with 'Beetlejuice.' The American actor James Austin Johnson appeared in the show as Trump, alongside George Fouracres, who played Andy Burnham, and Freddie Meredith, who played the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Deadline, Andy told Volodymyr that he would raise the matter with Trump at the earliest chance and pointed to the difficulties the Ukrainian leader is currently facing in his country. Right at that moment, Trump entered the scene and said,
"You say my name and I appear. I got the idea from my very close friend Beetlejuice, the great Beetlejuice."
James, dressed as Donald Trump, further said that he got the idea from his very close friend Beetlejuice. He added that Beetlejuice was considered a s*x pest, though he stressed that it was only alleged and couldn't be proven. James referred to the fictional character Beetlejuice from the famous Tim Burton movies.

SNL UK roasted Donald Trump in the cold open debut
In Saturday Night Live UK, James Austin Johnson made an entrance as Donald Trump while discussion was going on between Andy Burnham (played by George Fouracres) and Volodymyr Zelenskyy (played by Freddie Meredith).
During the discussion, Andy pointed to Volodymyr and said that he would bring the issue to Trump at first opportunity and highlighted the problems the Ukrainian leader is currently dealing with in his country. Soon after, Trump entered and said that when someone mentions his name, he appears. Trump then said,
"I got the idea from my very close friend Beetlejuice, the great Beetlejuice. It’s one of the two reasons I like him. The other is that he’s a s*x pest… It’s alleged, they can’t prove that stuff."
Donald Trump then offered Andy a job swap after saying that it was a miserable job being president of the United States. James, who was dressed as Trump, joked that his job was a terrible place filled with unpleasant people and further admitted that he didn't understand why he was continuing in the position.
James then mocked several major UK news stories, including the controversy surrounding Manchester City football club, the ongoing small boats crisis, and the recent incident where a man was killed by a tiger. He also directed some humor toward Russell Brand, who is currently facing trial for r*pe and s*xual assault.
Why did James mention Beetlejuice?
James Austin Johnson used the Beetlejuice reference to make Trump's entrance feel exaggerated and surreal.
James also added a sharp twist by calling Beetlejuice a 's*x pest', while stressing that it was only alleged and unproven. Therefore, the part of the gag was designed to reflect Trump's habit of mixing humor with provocative remarks.
