Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Monday, January 26th:

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Ted is seriously vying for the title of my favorite BTG character. Flaws and all. While yes, he made a mistake, a very, very large one. It was decades ago and he has more than tried to make things right. He is being a stand-up guy, and the way he stepped up for Eva was admirable, and he took all his licks without ever saying poor me and playing the victim. He owned his part in all of it, and now he’s being humble and handling things with class, which is more than I can say for the family he used to be a part of.

Honoring promises made long ago, and long after those promises ceased to hold water, Ted stands by his word. Rushing straight over to the Duprees' house to render aid to Anita, and then the conversation he had with Vernon was more than they deserved, but it showed the man’s character. Love him or hate him, Ted Richardson is up there with the best. Whatever you need, Vernon, it’s on the house. Maybe they won't be too fast to judge the man the next time they see him, but I doubt it. The Dupree memory is short when it pertains to people who have done them a solid.
