Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates
What the heck got into Eva today? Seriously. It’s like she had a lobotomy over the weekend and her brain was replaced by someone else's. That's beginning to sound like another soap, right? Well, I was watching Eva and Izaiah and just knew it was going to end with an argument and Eva stomping out as if it’s the end of the world or their relationship, and going by the teaser lines for next week's show, damn if it isn't.
Normally, Eva is much more reasonable and of sound mind, so I’m really scrambling to try and explain why she’s had this sudden change of heart, but more openly, a change of fundamental character. If I had to guess, either the usual writer for Eva has been replaced, or it’s something much simpler. We have seen too much of nice, calm, well-mannered Eva, who is doing great at reforming from the image we initially had of her. Obviously, we need to pivot from Leslie being the show's only villain. Sorry, I just don’t see Joey as a villain; he’s much too cool. Now we have Eva on a tear to look forward to? I hope not, let's not undo all the great writing for her we have witnessed thus far.
