Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P for Monday, March 9th:

Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Today was an interesting show on dynamics. Vanessa and Joey are an interesting couple. Vanessa should take Joey’s advice a little more often; he’s made a successful career thus far out of beating the law and staying in the game, a criminal game. He’s always been a scary judge of character and has known what people were up to long before they revealed it. Vanessa, knowing her daughter is about to return to Fairmont Crest, is setting up a dinner for after they open the clinic, and Vanessa wants this to be the first time that she introduces her daughter to Joey. Not as her lover, but as a friend and business partner.

We’ve already been through this when Vanessa and Doug's son returned. He was angry, had lots of questions, and things were really tense and a little awful at times. Has Vanessa not learnt from that? She has a chance at a do-over of sorts to try to make it different for Deanna and for herself. Joey doesn’t think that it’s the best time to introduce him, and going by the spoilers for this week, he’s right on the money. Deanna is sullen and then rages, and poor Vanessa is humiliated.
