Here's what went down Friday, February 13, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when a reporter tried it with Dani, Andre compared Ted to Bill, and Kat wondered if she were on the bike path while everyone else was on the freeway.

On Beyond the Gates, Ted hung out with Andre, proud that he hadn't been judgmental to Nicole about her new “sexier” look. Andre couldn't deny that it had seemed like the stable Nicole and sassy Dani had switched places, but he recommended that his uncle focus on the “fine nurse” in his life instead of his ex. Ted remembered how similarly “electric” Nicole had been when they'd first met; it just seemed like careers and children and fertility issues had killed the romance in their marriage. Maybe, Ted reasoned, it was he who had actually changed and not Nicole.

Andre compared Ted to Bill, who had an incredible woman but kept looking elsewhere – Ted had done it with Leslie, and now he was monitoring Nicole in favor of Shanice. Ted realized he needed to stop, with Andre reinforcing, “Stop livin' back there.”

At Garland Memorial, Carlton interrupted Nicole's loving gaze at a can of Febreze, and Nicole wanted to know if they were cool after their tension over her also seeing Kial. Carlton admitted he had been surprised, but also that he wasn't afraid of having competition. Just then Lia, the hospital chief of staff, entered, and she and Carlton got into an argument over Lia designating the operating room he'd wanted to use to perform plastic surgery for an emergency kidney transplant instead. When Carlton snapped that his field was just as important, Lia droned for Nicole to calm him down, since she obviously had influence where he was concerned. Nicole didn't like the idea of her personal life being monitored by the hospital's higher-ups.

Later, Lia praised Shanice for her work and declared them an unbeatable team. Ted soon gifted Shanice with a beautiful dress for Valentine's Day, not aware that Nicole was watching the exchange. Nicole overheard Shanice and Ted discussing their plans for the holiday and cut in that they wouldn't run into her during them, since she was planning to be at a different venue than theirs. Ted hoped that, “whoever” Nicole's date was, she would enjoy herself. Afterwards, Ted and Shanice couldn't help hearing when Lia lit into Carlton for the fact that she seemed to be running a matchmaking service rather than a hospital – and if it ended up affecting patient care, it would affect Carlton as well.

Dani tried to duck out of her house but was caught by Pamela, who didn't want Dani going anywhere ahead of Tatum Stewart and the press arriving for a livestream in which Dani would be announcing her return to modeling. Despite Pamela's protests, Dani threatened to call the whole thing off if Pamela prevented her from an important stop she had to make.

Kat joined Anita at the Dupree mansion to help out with preparations for the cotillion, noting that she could have more fun now that she wasn't actively participating and competing to be the “platinum deb.” Anita wanted to delegate some tasks to Kat, since she'd likely have days where she was low on energy. Kat swore she would sing with The Articulettes if asked to, and Vernon was still of the opinion that his wife should be taking it easy. “I'll rest when I'm...tired,” Anita finished uncomfortably.

Dani swooped in and announced that she had news she hoped wouldn't upset everybody – she had unfinished business in relation to Bill. Hearing her parents scoff that Dani was still pining for her ex, Dani corrected that, in fact, she had given up modeling to be with him...and now she was getting back into it. Her only concern was that Anita would be negatively affected by her return to the public eye, but both Anita and Vernon were adamant that Dani go for it.

In the absence of Dani, Pamela did her best to placate the reporters but especially Tatum, who was furious that Dani was late. When Dani finally showed, she made sure to make an entrance and assure everyone that she was about to drop quite the bomb.

Bill stood in his hotel room wondering why Lynette was there with Hayley. Mrs. Hamilton piped up that Ms. Wise, who had herself been traumatized from having to confront her mugger, had no one to talk to. Lynette caught on to the ruse and claimed she was having nightmares about the experience. The women tried not to break character as Bill offered to set Lynette up with a therapist. Hayley instead suggested that Bill arrange for Lynette to have her own room at the Bowman, since she was staying at a motel in a crappy neighborhood and the on-the-loose mugger might find her there.

When Bill went to the lobby to book Lynette in, she cackled that she and Hayley were working a mark together, just like the old days. Hayley didn't appreciate her husband being referred to as a mark and resisted Lynette's hopes for further benefits, as Lynette getting too greedy would make Bill suspicious. Lynette avowed that Bill wouldn't find anything out about Hayley from her...though there was so much she could tell.

Bill's return forced the scammers to snap back into their play acting; after Lynette got her room card and left, Bill suggested that Hayley keep her distance from Lynette once the mugger went to jail, since it was clear to him that Lynette was milking the situation for everything it was worth. Hayley said that Bill was wrong about Lynette but was unable to stop him when he picked up his phone to check in with Elon about the case. He never made the call, though, since he saw a notification about Dani's livestream and decided to watch it in case it affected Chelsea and Naomi. Hayley could barely hide her annoyance.

Nicole stormed into her parents' house, ranting about how the changes she'd made to her personal life were swaying her professional reputation at the hospital. Kat gently shushed her aunt and directed her to Dani's livestream, on which Dani was naming herself “the future of fashion.” As the face of Tatum's line, she and Tatum were about to revolutionize the fashion world.

An enthusiastic reporter from Eye on Fashion (the magazine established on The Bold and the Beautiful in the '80s) asked Dani why she had picked this moment to return to modeling; Dani's response was that she was the perfect spokesperson for Tatum's vision, and that her own experience as an agent and manager would make her a better advocate and negotiator. However, a different, grumpy newshound wanted to talk about the elephant in the room: Dani's age. She was a full generation older than models working runways today – how were her crow's feet and stretch marks supposed to be aspirational?

Dani squared her eyes and said the man had a lot of nerve to come into her home and call her washed up. Maturity was her greatest asset, she insisted, and the fact that her body was different due to age and having children just made her more relatable to women who didn't want to be relegated to wearing mom jeans. Her laugh lines were not flaws to be hidden, and she had never felt more beautiful. The reporter tried to make an issue of Dani having married the much younger Andre, but she clapped back that Andre was a wonderful man and reiterated that women wanted to see someone their age representing them.

Once the event was over, Tatum and Pamela were thrilled by the way Dani had handled herself. Andre admitted he had been ready to punch the reporter, but Dani said it was seeing Andre in the scrum that had reminded her of who she was and given her the impetus to step up. Back at the hotel, Hayley was so cheesed over Bill gushing that Dani seemed like she'd been when they first met that she played up her facial bruise and winced, supposedly in pain – this had Bill coming back to making Hayley his priority, and she smirked as he hugged her.

While Nicole and Anita discoursed about her love life, Vernon took Kat aside and shared his observation that she hadn't seemed very excited about Dani's announcement. Kat was actually very happy for her aunt, but it seemed like everyone had been making big moves lately – except her. Ms. Richardson told her grandfather about Tomás asking her to move in with him, and about her reticence to do so. Vernon hailed the virtue of caution and relayed how he and Anita had waited until they were completely confident they could go the distance before they'd gotten married. Kat nodded when Vernon said that being true to herself was her best bet.

Lynette found Randy at the food court, bragging that she was “movin' on up” via the chic hotel suite Bill had upgraded her to. Randy wondered why Lynette was still in town, let alone not in jail, and growled that he knew Lynette had hit Hayley to fake a mugging. When asked where she'd learned to “throw hands” the way she did, Lynette addressed the ex-boyfriend she'd had who had owned a boxing ring. Randy found it incredibly convenient that Lynette had sought out Hayley's husband to represent her in her embezzlement case, and Lynette purred that Randy had to doubt her...because if he didn't, he would want to hook up with her again, the way they used to.

Randy spat that he had no good memories from his time with Lynette but couldn't help smiling when Lynette brought up how they'd broken into a house to steal game consoles only to have sex in every room. But Randy caught himself and put his wall right back up, telling Lynette that he was immune to her as he got up and left.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount Plus. On Monday, February 16, the show will be rerunning the episode featuring Doug's death (which originally aired September 24, 2025). New episodes will resume airing Tuesday, February 17.
