Here's what went down Wednesday, February 4, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when Shanice and Ashley got caught up on DMV doings, Chelsea was Done-mark, and Anita sported more wigs than Leslie.

On Beyond the Gates, Chelsea was on a call as she entered the Dupree mansion, hanging up when she saw who she perceived to be a stranger in the living room. But it was Anita with her newly shorn hair, and Chelsea called the look “better than Rihanna in her pixie era.” Chelsea realized that Anita had gotten the cut because chemo was making her hair fall out and became sad, but Anita was energized, saying it had been time to shake up her image.

Anita and Chelsea laughed as Anita recalled once having to go on stage wearing the male headliner's toupee because she had burned off part of her own hair with a hot comb. Chelsea went on to confide in her grandmother about her move to Copenhagen with Madison – and how Kat had deemed it selfish, given Anita's cancer. The matriarch absolutely did not want any of her loved ones putting their lives on hold for her – but she did think that love shouldn't require such huge changes.

Hayley drummed her fingernails on Bill's desk, wondering why Bill wasn't worried about the anomalies revealed by his blood work. Bill started to say that he'd learned from Dani not to stress over worst case scenarios, but he caught himself and credited their daughters instead. The lawyer suggested that Hayley go shopping and said “Hay was just leaving anyway” when birthday girl Caroline arrived wanting to talk about Bill's schedule.

Caroline noticed the tension and asked if Bill had something – or someone – else on his mind. Bill pivoted and presented his assistant with a Mercedes for her birthday. She couldn't believe the extravagance, but Bill said she deserved it for her ten years of loyalty...and discretion.

Jacob was with Izaiah at the food court, laughing that Dani had approached his younger brother to be a model. “A beforemodel,” Jacob cackled. Izaiah saw the humor and predicted their father would really be disappointed if he went into that career. Jacob grumbled that Elon had seemed disappointed over him not busting the blood plasma ring in one night. The detective knew there needed to be no loose ends, or Elon would demote him back to doing desk work.

With Jacob having stepped away for a moment, Izaiah was found by Hayley, who laid the charm on thick. When Hayley asked if Izaiah had been avoiding her, he replied, “I'd have to think about you to do that.” Hayley responded by sniffing that the last time she had seen Izaiah was at WinterFest, when he was with “Ted's love child.” Hearing Hayley's reminder that Eva had been a part of ruining the Richardsons' marriage, Izaiah held that he didn't choose his girlfriends based on idle gossip. Hayley crowded Izaiah's space to show him social media photos of the gala, chirping “Oops” when she swiped past a NSFW pic she had taken for Bill.

Back at Fairmont Crest, Dani was explaining to Andre how she and Bill had gotten caught up in sentimentality and nostalgia during their last meeting. “I kissed Bill,” Dani admitted with dread. Rattled, Andre figured the smooch had factored into Bill's recent revelation that he'd erred in leaving Dani for Hayley. Dani swore the kiss had been a goodbye – and that, despite the warm memories that had come up, she hadn't forgotten about the bad ones. She became teary as she remembered how many nights Bill had left her alone with his serial cheating, and how her heart had been broken over and over and over.

Andre held Dani, surprised that she had stayed with Bill so long despite knowing she was fighting a losing battle. Dani acknowledged that she had allowed her self-respect to be chipped away by trying to block out Bill's infidelities. Andre thanked Dani for her honesty and called Bill “a damn fool.” He wanted to keep building a life with Dani and was ready to fight for her if he had to. Dani called the vow unnecessary, as she wasn't going anywhere. To Dani, Andre was her future, and she decided to go and tell Bill that they had no longer had any reason to interact unless had to do with Chelsea or Naomi.

Bill was none too pleased to see Dani, especially when she remarked that Caroline had once again been cold to her; the assistant was now only tolerating Hayley because she was Bill's current wife. Caroline's only loyalty was to Bill, Dani sniffed, as proven by how careful Caroline had been in making sure she never ran into any of Bill's side pieces. Bill didn't want to hear Dani's “greatest hits,” so she threw his “buyer's remorse” in his face. The lawyer was annoyed that Vernon had repeated his confession to Dani, who said that Vernon had considered Bill the son he'd never had until he'd so thoroughly hurt her.

Sneering that he'd been poked and prodded enough at the hospital, Bill told Dani about his blood levels being off and how he'd nixed staying overnight for observation because Hayley hadn't wanted him to. “Since when does she have a medical degree?” Dani spat, stopping herself from further interference by announcing to Bill that she was there to “put a stop to us.” Bill retorted that Dani had drawn that line in the sand before – yet how many times had they kissed? Dani called their boundary breaking unhealthy and declared that she could stay away when Bill challenged her. “Can you?” she asked, leaving him to ponder the question.

At the brownstone, Martin had Naomi over to help him address campaign postcards by hand, feeling the personal touch would impress his voters. The cousins briefly discussed Anita's recent travails, and Naomi could understand Vernon's frustration, feeling it was almost harder to be a support person to a patient than a patient itself. Cryptically, Naomi told Martin about Jacob's protective streak, and how it felt like a prison at times. Martin could relate, having experienced Smitty's safeguarding.

Sitting at Uptown, Smitty was surprised by the appearance of Max, his informant, who was very early for their meeting. Max was in a panic, as the leader of the blood plasma syndicate had suspected a snitch in the organization and severely beaten Carl, one of its couriers, to set an example; they'd simply dumped Carl off in front of a hospital afterwards. Smitty saw how terrified Max was, knowing that he was the snitch, but he reminded Max that kids and elderly people weren't getting the life-saving plasma they needed because it was being stolen and sold for millions of dollars. Max called his cohorts monsters; Smitty reasoned that if Max left the crime ring now, they'd know he was the leak and act accordingly.

Ashley and Shanice were having after-work drinks at Uptown, where they talked about the brutality of someone leaving a nearly dead victim at the entrance to Garland without even letting anyone know he was there. Conversation also turned to how Bill hadn't allowed himself to be admitted in spite of his blood levels being out of whack – plus Shanice shared with Ashley how Madison was leaving for Copenhagen...and Chelsea was going with her.

Chelsea unwittingly rescued Izaiah from Hayley's cooing when she stopped by, giving him the opportunity to “dip.” Hayley denied Chelsea's claim that she was already looking for Bill's replacement because he didn't satisfy her and advised Chelsea to text her dad owing to his abnormal test results, which were news to Chelsea.

Martin and Naomi were joined by Chelsea; though Kat was expected, Chelsea said that Kat would likely keep her distance because they had argued about her moving to Denmark. Martin inquired whether ChelseaKat would be shut down; Chelsea affirmed she would work remotely. Naomi approved of her sister launching such a grand adventure, but she noticed that Chelsea almost seemed to be hoping Naomi would try and talk her out of it. Chelsea suddenly gathered up her things and split, saying there was somewhere she needed to be.

Chelsea met with Madison, who showed her the Denmark guidebook she had just bought. The couple each started to say something at the same time; after Madison gave the floor to Chelsea, she said that, while she had gotten swept away by Madison's romantic gesture, it really wasn't the best time for her to leave town for an extended period. Madison understood and assumed they would then be entering into a long-distance relationship. Chelsea looked uncertain.

Izaiah then arrived at the brownstone, surprising Naomi by mentioning that he had just spent time with Jacob. Mrs. Hawthorne felt uneasy not knowing anything about Jacob's undercover assignment, and Izaiah had no further details to share about it, either. For Martin's part, he shared Naomi's discomfort, as Smitty had revealed next to nothing about the investigative article he was working on; the congressman preferred that his husband worked on human interest or political stories rather than anything that involved crime.

Jacob joined Smitty at Uptown, upset to hear that Max was considering pulling out of the plasma ring. If Max bailed, Jacob wouldn't have an entry into the organization. Relaying how Carl had been severely roughed up, Smitty promised himself he would also back away if things got too dangerous, though he rationalized his statement by opining that he wouldn't be in any actual peril – and by the time his article came out, the bad guys would be in jail. Jacob fretted that Elon would bench him if Max didn't come through – but then Jacob got a text from the informant, telling him that he had arranged for Jacob to replace the courier who had been brutalized.

Andre answered Anita's summons; aware that people would start talking about why she'd suddenly butched off her hair, she wanted to sit for a photo shoot and put new images online to dissuade them. She chuckled over the memory of once refusing to pose on top of a piano with a live peacock, then remarked that it was funny, the regrets people had when things started getting dark. Andre offered to reschedule the snaps, but Anita insisted they proceed, and she appeared in a series of outfits and hairstyles as Andre clicked away.
