Here's what went down Monday, February 9, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when Chelsea didn't get her father's blessing, Derek and Leslie made strange co-workers, and the team of Pamela, Andre, and Tatum did their best to steer Dani toward the runway.
What happened on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Ashley came into the hospital on her day off, not wanting to stay home and overthink. Shanice gleaned that Ashley was pondering “ab tech” Grayson; when Shanice slipped that Ashley might be worried about Grayson being “slick,” Ashley recognized Derek's word and became annoyed that Shanice might be in agreement with him. Though Ashley wanted Shanice's take on Grayson, Shanice turned it around and said only Ashley's opinion mattered. Ashley explained how Grayson had taken off ahead of lovemaking without explanation, causing Shanice to opine that he was “answering a booty call” and declare the relationship “D.O.A.”
Ashley resisted Shanice's directive to ask Grayson what had happened; the newbie nurse felt it would be awkward, but Shanice insisted that Ashley find out what she was getting herself into. Just then, Grayson exited the elevator and told Ashley that he owed her an apology.
Grayson relayed how his mother had Parkinson's, and that she had fallen in the shower at the facility where she was living. Ashley wondered why Grayson hadn't just said that before he left, but he replied that he'd been afraid he'd flip out, since he was angry with the negligent caregivers for allowing his mom to fall in the first place. He wanted to get her into better assisted living, but her insurance would only cover a fraction and Grayson wasn't making enough money between the hospital and his side ventures. Ashley was sympathetic.
Jan summoned Derek to Orphey Gene's and told him there was a free clinic opening up that could use his expertise. Just as Derek started thinking about how many contacts he had whom he could reach out to, Leslie arrived and condemned him for being rude to her earlier on Shanice's behalf. Jan felt that Derek was the perfect solution to Leslie's problem. “Which one? She has so many,” Derek snarked. Suddenly he realized that it was Leslie who was funding the clinic, and he refused to work with her.
Leslie sniffed that she would just recruit Eva, who already had experience working at Ted's clinic, but Jan finked about Derek's contacts, and Leslie abruptly changed her attitude, even though Derek wondered what would happen when his best friend Jacob – the detective – stopped by and caught Leslie poisoning someone's IV. Jan squelched a further outburst from Derek and assured Leslie that he would think about coming on board.
After Leslie left, Derek wondered how Jan could be friends with Leslie, someone he considered “lethal.” Jan was of the opinion that Leslie was trying to change and reinforced how much the clinic would help people – and how much it would restore Derek's sense of purpose, which being forced to retire from firefighting had sapped. It wasn't until Jan mentioned that the clinic was being established in Doug's name, which meant a lot to her employer, Vanessa, that Derek began to reconsider.
Later, Jan saw Ashley and told her daughter about Derek possibly working with Leslie. Ashley didn't think Leslie was capable of change, instead changing the subject to Grayson; Ashley revealed how, like her, Grayson had been raised by a single mom. She deemed Grayson a good guy and was certain Jan would like him.
Leslie confronted Shanice at the hospital, betting that Shanice had been losing sleep over her panty prank. When Leslie called it a reminder of the “unforgettable adventures” she had shared with Ted – “then and now” – Shanice smirked that they were really “then and then,” backing up Ted's insistence that he had no interest in Leslie. The women continued arguing over Ted, with Leslie calling Shanice insecure and Shanice calling Leslie desperate. Shanice proudly said that she was all right with or without Ted because she had the pride that Leslie didn't, prompting Leslie to yelp, “Well, snuggle up witcho bad self, Niecy! I got cash in the bank and a man at my side,” she finished confidently.
Bill and Caroline entered the country club banquet room for a breakfast meeting and saw Chelsea and Madison already seated at another table. Chelsea's dad was glad that she and Madison were back together, but he was stunned into silence when Madison flashed her engagement ring. After Madison excused herself to take a call, and Caroline excused herself to wipe her tears of joy, Chelsea noticed that Bill hadn't congratulated her. Bill thought it odd that Madison and Chelsea were engaged when they had just been on the verge of breaking up and intimated that they were rushing into marriage.
Chelsea took this to mean that Bill thought she was just going through a phase being with a woman. Bill denied the accusation and remarked that Chelsea was in her first committed relationship, in which hasty decisions looked different in hindsight. Chelsea didn't like her father's attitude, and when Caroline returned and expressed her delight at the engagement, Chelsea said that she would take the appreciation where she could get it. Alone with Caroline afterwards, Bill decided to place a call.
Dani came downstairs to find a rather glum Andre looking into breakfast. However, Andre rallied when Dani described the anxiety dream she'd had about modeling and championed his wife's abilities. Dani confessed that she hadn't yet decided about representing Tatum Stewart's line on the runway – for once, she was trying not to be impulsive. Andre smiled that impulsivity worked for them, which Dani couldn't deny; they were in the middle of making out when an excited Pamela came by with news.
Pamela announced that Tatum was in town and was on her way over to meet Dani...in twenty minutes. After Dani rushed upstairs to take a shower, Andre asked Pamela if she had arranged the meeting. Pamela hadn't and thought that Andre had put it together. Instead, Tatum had made the move herself, and, when she arrived, she exchanged small talk with Andre and Pamela, then worried that Dani wouldn't take her offer. Pamela got across that she and Andre just didn't want it to look like Tatum wanted to hire Dani as a favor to Andre, which Tatum understood.
Dani made her entrance, then couldn't get enough of Tatum's sketches – though she hedged when Tatum asked point blank if she was ready to take the modeling gig. Later, while Dani and Tatum were in casual conversation, Andre thought that things had gone well – yet he unexpectedly got a phone call from Bill, which he let go to voice mail.
Lynette met with Hayley at Uptown, though she didn't think it was a good idea for them to be seen together in public. Hayley called their meeting legit – she handed Lynette a thick manila envelope and said that Bill had agreed to let Tomás handle her case pro bono. Lynette offered a wry smile as she said Hayley was good at making things disappear.
Talk turned to the vacation home Hayley and Bill had been done out of in St. Bart's; Lynette admitted she had been there because of a “mark” with a hedge fund she had spent time with. When Lynette hoped that Bill could be more hands-on with her case, Hayley said that Bill was too busy with family issues. Lynette sussed out that Dani was included in that family, and she and Hayley both griped about how expert Dani was at making the world revolve around her.
Lynette declared that Hayley had changed once she heard her resolution to trust in Bill's love more – Ms. Wise called that a “hot mess idea” that would only blow up in Hayley's face. For better results, Lynette thought it was time to “bust out big bad Val”; Hayley refused to be identified by that name and sighed that nothing she had done had taken Bill's focus off of Dani, his “starter wife.” Lynette decided that the only move Hayley had left was to “out-Dani” Dani.
Recalling a night out in Philadelphia when they were girls, Lynette remembered how she knew she was going to be in trouble with her mother for coming home late. Hayley laughed that she “packed a punch,” and Lynette laughed that the busted lip Hayley had given her had made her mom forget about her curfew. “If you can't fake a health scare, get a real one,” Lynette mused, offering to team up with Hayley to help her reach her objective.
Once Hayley and Lynette were outside Uptown, Lynette thought that a staged mugging would be most effective. Hayley didn't think so, since Bill would have detective son-in-law Jacob scanning through all kinds of security footage to locate her “attacker.” Lynette quietly brought Hayley to a spot beyond the nightclub and sucker punched her. “You crazy bitch!” Hayley exclaimed. Lynette smiled, sure she had left a mark.
