Here's what went down Friday, January 30, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when Nicole treated herself to a triangle, Chelsea had reservations about Madison's reservations, and Izaiah got to watch a tennis match starring Eva and Kat.

On Beyond the Gates, Carlton texted Nicole at the same time she was getting a message from Kial. She put on some music and got all dressed up – which the arriving Carlton truly appreciated. The surgeon inquired into Nicole's image change; she admitted that, since her life had transformed, she had decided to transform with it. Carlton was ready to take Nicole to the fashionable Obelisk for dinner, but she purred that she was more hungry for him. Clothes came off and they ended up upstairs in Nicole's bed.

Post lovemaking, Nicole remarked that it was the first time she'd had anybody but Ted in her bedroom, which Carlton hadn't considered. Nicole also relayed how many nights she had spent alone in that bed once her marriage had blown up. Now the room was hers, and having Carlton there had brought them to a new level of intimacy. Since they had missed their dinner reservations, Carlton picked a night to make good on them, but Nicole, seeing that Kial had texted her yet again, opted to play things by ear rather than make solid plans, enticing Carlton into a second round of boudoir fun.

At Uptown, Kat was still trying to convince Izaiah to join Dani's agency as a model and even suggested that he could be “Mr. Man Purse” for ChelseaKat. As they laughed over the possibility, Eva approached the table and kissed Izaiah with purpose. Kat called Eva's move “pathologically insecure,” while Eva flamed Kat for hanging around where she wasn't wanted. Izaiah watched as Kat attributed Eva's behavior to being raised by her “menace of a mother,” and Eva spat that the way Kat was always trying to undermine her must speak to her own upbringing. When Eva noted that Chelsea was at the bar, Kat saw that her cousin looked down and went to join her, leaving Izaiah to explain that he was only talking to Kat to get advice. Eva frowned that it wasn't like Kat had inherited her mother's therapist gene.

Izaiah went over how Dani had offered to hire him as a model, but added that he had given her “a hard no.” Yet, after Kat's encouragement, he found himself at least entertaining the idea. Eva could see Izaiah modeling but when Izaiah mentioned Kat proposing he become a spokesperson for ChelseaKat, Eva scowled, “That greedy little princess!” She was furious at Kat for “digging her expensive manicure into every part of [her] life.”

Though Izaiah said that Kat had been joking, Eva railed at Izaiah for being insensitive to the fact that Kat had been treating her poorly ever since they'd met. Eva was disappointed because she had opened up to Izaiah about how much Kat's persecution had hurt – she thought that she and Izaiah had developed a real connection, yet here he was “chasing after the princess of Fairmont Crest.” Izaiah felt that Eva was jealous. Eva insisted she wasn't; she'd just been under the impression that Izaiah had better taste.

When Izaiah reminded Eva that she was the one who had wanted their relationship to be casual, Eva reiterated as such and told Izaiah he could flirt with Kat to his heart's content – yet his enjoying Kat's company told Eva everything she needed to know about him. Apparently, Eva didn't mean anything to him, she said, and he looked flummoxed as she left in a huff. Kat returned and announced, “Now you see what I've been talking about.” Eva was in constant attack mode, Kat reported. How exhausting that must be for Izaiah to put up with!

Randy met Hayley at the food court, annoyed that she always expected him to drop everything when she called. Hayley again balked that she couldn't rely on her cousin to assist her in helping Bill to meet Jesus, so she had increased Bill's doses of poison – by a lot. Randy berated Hayley for claiming she was so smart when she had gone and done something so stupid: if Bill got too much toxin all at once, it could produce obvious medical changes that could be picked up by a doctor. And wasn't Bill always in for check-ups because of the stroke he'd had? Hayley took this in.

Bill readied for his exam with Madison, who preferred to keep things professional and not talk about any problems she might be having with Chelsea. Dr. Montgomery advised Bill that she had moved up his appointment since she wanted to square things before a new neurologist took over his case – she would be in Copenhagen the rest of the year studying at a research facility. Bill was confused, as Chelsea had never mentioned Madison traveling overseas. Just to keep things current, Madison wanted Bill to undergo some more blood tests; he joked that by now he was used to being a pincushion.

Chelsea received a call from Bill and was stunned to hear that Madison was leaving the the U.S.; Bill's notification was the first she had heard about it. She couldn't believe that her girlfriend was going to flee the country over their differences in opinion and her botched proposal; Kat disagreed with Chelsea's contention that she didn't matter to Madison, instead saying Madison being unable to face her meant the opposite. Chelsea listened as Kat submitted that homebody Madison might be afraid that Chelsea was too much of a wild child – Madison needed reassurance that the woman she'd fallen in love with was still there underneath her reclaimed spontaneity. Chelsea was adamant that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Madison. Kat replied that this was information Madison needed.

Finding Madison at the hospital, Chelsea exclaimed that Madison taking off to Denmark was “not happening” and asked why Madison had never mentioned the fellowship there before. Madison said she simply wanted to take advantage of the opportunity, prompting Chelsea to ask if she'd be going were things good between them. Chelsea felt that Madison was hiding, the same way she had built a wall around herself when she'd clashed with her mother. She wanted to fight for the woman she loved, but Madison said there wasn't anything to fight for. They were through.

Chelsea accused Madison of being a coward and conceded that “on paper we don't make sense.” Yet, Chelsea maintained that she was in love with Madison and beseeched her not to get on the plane to Europe.

Madison had expedited Bill's blood test results with the help of lab tech Grayson...and she was concerned by Bill's low levels of carbon dioxide, as well as an unsatisfactory amount of electrolytes in his system. Bill was taken aback, as everything had been normal for months; Madison said there was nothing to panic about in that such quantities varied depending on a number of circumstances. Still, she wanted to have Bill's new doctor run a series of tests to look into the anomaly.

Hayley was waiting for Bill at his office, set on resuming their almost lovemaking from earlier in the day. Bill sighed that he wasn't in the mood and that he had been feeling off for hours. Plus, he had been to see Madison, and things were showing up in his blood work that didn't usually occur with stroke patients. Hayley pretended to assure Bill that fluctuations were typical, but her smile faded a bit when Bill mentioned the further testing Madison had ordered.

Vernon brought Anita to the country club for dinner, which surprised her, since Vernon had been hovering over her and instructing Rowena to cook her ultra-healthy meals. When the Duprees saw that the banquet room was reserved for a private event, Anita was ready to go home, but Vernon protested, saying that they took precedence because his father had built the club. However, Vernon manipulated Anita into entering the dining area so she could see that he had arranged to have it to themselves. He snapped a finger, causing lights to come down and music to crank up.

Anita said she was still angry with Vernon and that he'd have to do a lot more to charm his way out of the doghouse, but Vernon smiled that he knew his wife had already forgiven him. Vernon challenged Anita to play a game – one whose only rule was that they not bring up “the Zodiac sign that begins with a 'C'.” The matriarch wondered if Vernon even knew how to have a discussion that didn't revolve around “the crab,” but the patriarch announced they wouldn't just be talking. He then turned a spot next to their table into a makeshift dance floor as slow music ebbed over the speakers.

Then, Vernon snapped his fingers again, and a high-energy '80s-style jam replaced the romantic ballad. Anita was thrilled by Vernon's moves and got down herself, declaring that it was just what she needed – it was nice to feel normal, she grinned. Afterwards, Vernon gifted Anita with earrings that she had been hinting about before Christmas and revealed that he had gotten the recipe for Anita's beloved chocolate truffle cake from Chicago so the club's chef could prepare it.

As Vernon exited to see to the cake, Anita pulled out her compact to freshen up and was horrified when, as she brushed through her hair with her fingers, a clump came out in her hand. She combed through the other side only to get the same result. When Vernon returned, Anita said she wasn't feeling well but wouldn't elaborate as they had agreed not to broach the subject of cancer; Anita went into the foyer to wait for Vernon to get the cake to-go and took her fallen hair out of her purse, near tears.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount Plus.
