Here's what went down Thursday, June 4, 2026 on Beyond the Gates when it was revealed whose idea it was for Hayley to target Bill, who was almost became her victim instead, and what Dani did when she finally caught Bill cheating.

Dani looked at a photo of her and Bill at WinterFest 2024, taken not long after she'd found out Bill was leaving her. Andre came home from a shoot and noticed that Dani seemed down. She admitted that her confrontation with Bill about him being unaware of Mike Davis making unwanted advances had dredged up a lot of pain about her first marriage. When Andre didn't want Dani punishing herself for allowing herself to become subservient, she confided that she had gone to Bill the day of his wedding to Hayley and asked him to come home. Dani flashed back to that moment:

Bill told a destroyed Dani that he was absolutely going to marry Hayley, and that he couldn't exchange vows with her fast enough.

Andre didn't think there had been anything wrong with Dani simply asking to be loved. Dani agreed with Andre that she and Bill had reconciled many times before...but she had never expected Hayley.

Chelsea and Naomi shared a meal at the country club. The Hamilton daughters were grateful that they each had found partners who made them happy, especially given the example of their parents. Naomi recalled Dani having to walk on eggshells and the air of secrecy at home, but Chelsea reminded her sister that their family had had good times as well. Chelsea also noted that their parents still had a “special spark,” which even Hayley was aware of.

Bill talked to Hayley from his office, begging off dinner because he was mired in trying to get Mike's case against Madison dismissed. After he and Hayley hung up, Bill asked Caroline if Mike had hit on her in addition to Dani and the other women in the office. Caroline said Mike had tested the waters with her but had been much more aggressive with her peers. When Bill couldn't understand how he'd missed Mike's behavior, Caroline recounted that Bill had been preoccupied with work...and other activities.

Hayley and Randy met at Uptown, where Hayley wanted confirmation that Randy and Joey hadn't been involved in the blood plasma ring. Once the cousins settled that, Hayley crowed that the poison in Bill's system was beginning to take effect: she'd been tracking him via a smart ring she'd bought him under the guise of watching out for his health. Both Hayley and Randy were ready for Bill to succumb already, with Randy saying they'd been waiting a long time. Plus, he reminded Hayley that Bill had not been her first target:

Randy greeted Val (Hayley's real name) at a secluded bench, wondering if she had already blown through the money she'd filched from her previous mark, Clyde. Hayley was ready for her next patsy – Joseph R. Armstrong, about whom she could find nothing except online cooking videos. Randy adamantly warned that Joey was off the table, but he had done some research on another suitable stooge: Bill Hamilton, an affluent lawyer. He was married, Randy explained, but his wife was always out of town and it would be easy to appeal to his gargantuan ego. The way in, Randy went on, was through Bill's daughter, the similarly-aged Naomi Hamilton, and Randy gave Val her new identity: Hayley Lawson.

Hayley approached Naomi after a Pilates class and intrigued her by saying that she had come to town hoping to find a job where she could do something for others. Naomi was willing to help Hayley find an apartment in a less scummy neighborhood when Hayley lamented that she hadn't yet made any friends...

Some time later, Naomi introduced Hayley to Dani – and Bill. Dani championed the new best friend Naomi had told her about while Bill took notice of Hayley...

Naomi wondered if Bill and Dani would still be married if she had just not been in Hayley's path the day they met. Chelsea observed that their parents had forged a tentative friendship, and that Bill had seemed to become more aware of the importance of family after her kidnapping and Anita's cancer. Naomi was still incensed that Hayley had used her and weaponized their own friendship to get intel on Bill:

Hayley was surprised to learn that Naomi had recently caught Bill kissing a woman not his wife. Naomi was sure that Dani knew of Bill's affairs but reasoned it would be too humiliating for Dani to admit to them. Hayley saw Naomi's dismay about her parents and pulled her into a hug, labeling her a “forever friend”...

Hayley scoffed that Dani had been the kind of woman who defined herself by her parenting skills – and those “annoying girls” Chelsea and Naomi had been all Dani had had:

Alone with Dani in her living room while Bill showered and Naomi was upstairs having girl talk with Chelsea, Hayley was hesitant to accept the family's invitation to join them for dinner at the country club. After Dani considered Hayley a part of that family, Hayley had a moment of what seemed to be genuine regret and spoke of how her mother had become distant after her father had left them. (This doesn't line up with Hayley having said early on that she was an orphan; it's possible that neither story is true.) Dani said that Hayley didn't need to be lonely anymore, and Hayley, looking around, decided that she liked Dani's world...

At the country club, Bill was engrossed in his phone as Dani, Naomi, and Chelsea conversed; when Bill reached for bread, Hayley made sure to reach out at the same time and touch his hand. Dani saw Bill's distraction, assuming he was trying to find a replacement for his receptionist, who had just resigned...and suddenly recommended Hayley for the position. Hayley was excited, and Bill asked her when she could start...

Hayley smirked to Randy that it had just been a matter of playing the good girl until it was the right time to hook Bill...

Bill had called Hayley into his office and asked about her first day. When Hayley relayed it had been wonderful but worried about the appropriateness of her form-fitting outfit, Bill fumbled over his words until he finally said that Hayley's choice of wardrobe had been a breath of fresh air considering the conservative way the other ladies in his firm dressed. Seated, Hayley had hiked her skirt up a few inches and began to swing her leg...

They reminisce over you

A few months later, Hayley, wearing a tight, shoulderless dress that accentuated her décolletage, stayed late at the office, which Bill noticed. He invited her to join him for a drink, which she was sure Dani wouldn't like. Bill sniffed that Dani was gone all the time managing Chelsea's modeling career, and Hayley “sheepishly” confessed that Naomi had said Bill and Dani's marriage had been reduced to appearances. Hayley put her hand on Bill's knee and sighed that he did so much for so little appreciation, and that he deserved better. Bill declared that Hayley was a woman he could no longer deny and pulled her into a kiss...

Randy was impressed that Hayley had taken Bill right in his office. Hayley pshawed that that had been easy – the challenge had been pretending to be ashamed of her relationship with Bill for so long...

With Dani and Chelsea out of town, Bill was packing in preparation for moving out. Hayley cooed that she and Bill had made love right there in Dani and Bill's bed, and Bill was ready for another round when Chelsea suddenly burst into the bedroom. She tried to keep Dani from entering but failed. Hayley “cried” that she and Bill had been working up to telling Dani about their relationship; Chelsea yelled for Hayley to get her “trifling ass” out of the house and called her a whore.

Dani lunged at Hayley, but Bill stopped her and denied Dani's claim that he had “sourced [their] daughter's friends for [his] next lay” – he had fallen in love with Hayley and was leaving. The news visibly flattened Dani...

Chelsea rued that she had never seen someone's soul leave their body before. Naomi was at least mollified that they now had a decent, more realistic relationship with Bill instead of idolizing him as they'd used to.

Dani still carried the fury that Bill had slept with Hayley in their bed. Andre counseled Dani not to feel guilty for reliving her past – he wasn't worried about it damaging their marriage, and he understood about grief after enduring the loss of his parents. Dani took Andre's advice to luxuriate in a long bath and use it to come back to the present.

Bill, however, had one more memory:

Dani begged Bill to come home as he got ready for his wedding to Hayley. He stood stony as she promised she would do all the work.

When Hayley conceded to Randy that it had been nice having a friend in Naomi, he likened it to Hayley having palled around with Lynette; Hayley saw Randy's concerned expression and assured him that she wasn't going to get sloppy. “Enjoy your drink, Sammy,” she directed. “I got this.”

Hayley went to Bill's office, popping him out of his remembrance. She asked if he was feeling okay; he lied that he was just tired.

Having finished her bath, Dani took one more look at the WinterFest photo with her and Bill, then lay next to Andre and said she had taken a moment to forgive the version of herself who had thought she was fighting for what she'd believed in only to debase herself. Andre held her close.
