Today we are screening a repeat episode, taking a look back at episode 136 which aired on the 24th of September, 2025. This was a very important episode, which changed the landscape of Fairmont Crest and changed peoples lives forever. This will forever be known as the episode where Joey (Jon Lindstrom) got what he wanted, Lauren Buglioli gave one of her most commanding performances as Vanessa McBride and whether you loved him or hated him, Doug McBride played by Jason Graham had his last episode.

Monday, February 16th REPEAT Episode #136

Not the most pleasant stroll back along memory lane, but an important one. In this episode, one pair of lovers solidifies their relationship while in Puerto Rico. This is shown by Joey taking Vanessa out of the country to Puerto Rico, something they haven’t done yet, some alone time without Fairmont Crest close by, and nosy people ever-present. In reality, Joey had decided that Doug was too much of a liability with his threats and loud mouth, and he just wanted Vanessa all to himself. Tonight was all about the alibi.

Back in Fairmont Crest, Doug's night goes from bad to worse. He makes a call to his wife Vanessa, which is a genuine cry for help, and vanessa can hear the desperation in his voice and out of the blue, Joey, knowing full well Doug will hear it, calls out to Vanessa. Doug crashes out at the sound of Joey's voice, being there with Vanessa, and decides to go gambling and drinking at the casino. Lots of drinking.

Marcel lets Joey know that everything is as it should be, and Joey tells him to make it happen. Naomi loses her wedding ring only to have June fiend it in the bathroom at Orphey Genes and save the day, a lovely moment for June as she becomes the hero briefly, before we go back to the casino, and all of a sudden, Doug is alone with Marcel, and that soap fans, is the beginning of the end of Doug McBrides tenure.
