On Beyond the Gates, Martin had trouble weighing his desire to run for Senate against Joey knowing so many secrets about him. After advising Martin to focus on his congressional campaign for the time being, Vernon sat down with Joey and said that he was taking on Martin's debt – and to leave Martin alone. Joey agreed.

Nicole, enjoying her uncommitted situation with Kial, was thrown when he invited her to meet his adult kids. Martin and Kat got into a fight over Eva while discussing what would have been their parents' wedding anniversary. Eva still felt terrible about ruining Ted and Nicole's marriage. Ted and Nicole spoke about their happy memories and worried about Martin's obligation to Joey. Martin came in and caught them embracing.

Madison was distraught when Lia informed her that the malpractice case against her would require her to stop treating patients. Madison learned from Chelsea how to express her rage via boxing, while Chelsea answered a phone call to Madison from Willow, informing her that she would only be able to communicate with Madison through her attorney.

Tyrell was upset that Jessica had been accepted to UCLA because he had chosen to attend Banneker. Samantha caught her brother and his girlfriend together unsupervised and was incensed when Martin and Smitty didn't seem interested in punishing him, while she had been grounded for weeks for sneaking Nathan into the house. Jessica was able to arbitrate for her boyfriend's family.

Both Chelsea and Anita criticized Leslie, but Leslie was more bothered when Anita's words brought up old feelings about not having met her mother. Ted sympathized with "Dana," but when Shanice saw him taking her hand, she hurried away.

Naomi was appalled to find Hayley not helping Bill as he was choking. Hayley assured Naomi and Bill that Lynette was gone forever, which surprised them. Tomás discovered that Hayley had planned to buy Lynette the penthouse after speaking with Vanessa. Then Dani said that she had seen Lynette and Hayley hanging out before they were supposed to have known each other. Chelsea and Dani made the decision to work harder on their relationship. Naomi startled Bill by admitting that she had suggested that Andre and Dani have a child. Kat saw a name she recognized on the list Tomás had compiled of people Lynette had scammed.

When Grayson seemed to be going into shock despite Ashley's efforts to treat his stab wound, she lied about having a shift at the hospital and was nearly caught getting antibiotics out of a locked drawer by Lia. Grayson was forced to meet Jacob to pass along plasma despite being visibly ill; Lia pressured Grayson not to tell Ashley anything about the illegal ring.

Smitty asked Shanice and Ted if they had noticed anything odd regarding the hospital's blood supply. He also looked into lab tech Rachel Lewis, theorizing that she could have joined the syndicate due to financial need. Naomi feared that Jacob was in even more danger since he was on the verge of busting the ring.
