On Beyond the Gates, other than the fact that Derek's death left her clinic without a manager, Leslie had no sympathy for him. But that didn't stop her from ambushing a hospital press conference and crying over his loss for the public's benefit while announcing that the clinic had in no way purposely aided the blood plasma ring. Having just been commanded by Ted not to talk to him unless it had to do with Eva, Leslie concluded her performance by throwing herself into his arms in front of everyone, knowing Shanice was watching.

Brian Baldwin, Derek's distraught father, met with Ashley and blamed Jacob for his son's death, later accusing Jacob personally. After Brian brought Derek's remains back to their hometown, Shanice and Ashley decided to hold their own tribute for him at Uptown, his favorite hangout. Bothered by Jacob's growing remoteness, Naomi ultimately convinced him to admit that he agreed with Brian that he was responsible for his best friend's passing.

Let's talk about sex, baby

Tyrell was disillusioned by his first time having sex until Martin counseled him not to define his experience by what society said it was supposed to be like. Seeing that Tyrell was struggling with the prospect of being in a long-distance relationship with her, once starting at different colleges, Jessica said they could spend the summer together, but should break up afterwards. After their efforts to make love were interrupted by Kat and then Martin, Vernon and Anita checked into a hotel to resume their romantic evening.

Her grief over Doug refreshed, because of Derek's death, Vanessa began to gather up Doug's belongings in an effort to move on. Deanna had a vision of Doug, who told her that Joey was to blame for his death and that she was to separate Joey from Vanessa. Donnell felt better about Joey after getting answers from him about the red market and the night of Doug's death, which annoyed Deanna. Vanessa told Joey about Jacob's mission to imprison everyone involved with the blood plasma ring and his implication that Joey was a part of it. Joey was told that The Impaler wanted an audience with him.

Nicole took Kial into her confidence about seeing Ted while making love to Carlton. After Nicole objected to Ted recommending her to the hospital board to take over as chief of staff, Kial speculated that Ted wanted Nicole in the position so he could strengthen his connection to her. Jan learned that Mona had developed Type 2 diabetes, which was more common among Black women.

Hayley continued to poison Bill, causing his hand to shake, which Joey noticed. When Bill told Hayley about his condition, she exploited his dislike of hospitals to keep him from being checked out. Leslie offered to help Hayley in whatever plan she had against Bill. When Bill discontinued his probe into Lynette, Tomás asked Kat to leave him out of however she decided to proceed, fearing for his job. With sexual harasser Mike Davis representing the woman suing Madison, Dani flamed Bill for not handling Mike years earlier and revealed that Naomi hadn't wanted to work for Bill because of the unhealthy work environment at his firm. Despite being sued because of Willow, Madison considered inviting her mother to her and Chelsea's wedding anyway.

Tune in next week when Darlene's continued dislike of Eva brings Leslie's fangs out, Naomi and Smitty compare notes about Jacob, and Fairmont Crest titan Vernon Dupree meets up with Genoa City titan Victor Newman. You got that?
