We’re guessing that The Young and the Restless isn’t starting any long-term major storylines right now, as a new head writing regime’s work is going to start airing in a little over a month. Instead, the show spent the week of September 28 to October 2, possibly wrapping up some old ones, while focusing on what the show has always done best – highlighting interpersonal relationships, conflicts, and romances. And Now, Here's Something We Think You'll Really Like View this post on Instagram Instagram PostKyle and Vicki began having fun when they engaged in a physical relationship. They’ve gotten a rush out of trying not to get caught. They each love keeping this secret from their family members. Audiences figured out this latest twist, though, we suspect, before it happened. The two have exchanged lots of kisses and secrets, and they’ve made love, but they hadn’t been truly vulnerable with each other until last week, when Vicki opened up about Nick’s drug use, and she shared just how much she cares about her sibling. “Nick doesn’t want to use,” Kyle gently told his lover. Vicki countered: “My Mom didn’t want a drink, either.”Kyle gently supported Vicki as she unloaded about her concern for Nick. Sure, it’s good to have compatibility in the bedroom. But Kyle and Vicki are finding common ground in other places, too. They just may be falling in love.On a more humorous note, Y&R may have taken a page from the hit series Heated Rivalry, in which Ilya decided to come up with fake names so that he and his lover, Shane, wouldn't pop up on each other's phones under their real monikers. Ilya became "Lily"; Shane became "Jane." It was adorable when Vicki came up with the idea to call herself "Natasha" from The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends cartoons. Kyle took on the handle "Boris." Cricket V. PhyllisPhyllis and Cricket | Image: JPIOne of the best all-time rivalries on Y&R is Phyllis v. Cricket, which began over 30 years ago. Phyllis may have made amends with Sharon, but her feud with Cricket is never, ever going to end. Thank goodness! What we noticed last week is that Cricket wasn’t hiding her disdain for the fiery redhead. In scenes with Daniel, she made it clear that she has no use for Phyllis. Some men in Genoa City (Danny, Jack, and Nicholas) tend to look past Phyllis’ wicked ways, emphasizing her positive qualities, like her tenacity. We’re not saying Cricket lowered herself to Phyllis’ level, but she did seem to revel in telling Phyllis that Danny (Phyllis’ ex) sent her a romantic text.Heck, why shouldn’t Cricket take an occasional dig at her rival? Phyllis lied about sleeping with Danny when he and Cricket were married. She lied about Daniel being Daniel’s son. Phyllis rented a car and ran over Cricket and Paul the night before they were supposed to get married. Phyllis evaded the law, as she has so many times. The least Cricket should do is coyly remind Phyllis on occasion that her machinations failed, and she and Danny were remarried. The Ex and Current Mrs. Jack AbbottsNikki and Diane | Image: JPIAnother great feud on Y&R is the one between Nikki and Diane. Mrs. Jack Abbott has no use for Nikki, and the way she regularly feels the need to reach out to her dear friend Jack. Nikki’s Valentine’s Day launch for Vibrante is arguably a competitor to Jabot Cosmetics, so one might think that Jack and Nikki would be at odds.Diane ran into Nikki at Society, and the two women had it out as they are known to do. Diane doesn’t like Nikki, and Nikki’s not exactly pals with Diane either. We’re not a fan of Nikki being in the business world. For years, she simply wasn’t. She had no desire or aptitude that we could see to be in a C-suite. Nikki was at home when she was, well, at home, playing the piano, worrying about her kids, and yelling out, “I’ll get it, Miguel!” when the doorbell rang. However, Nikki being in the cosmetics world keeps her in Jack and Diane’s orbit. Cosmetics and conflict. There’s going to be a lot of that coming up, we suspect. The Long, Long GoodbyeMatt Clark | Image: CBSIt’s comical that Matt Clark keeps saying he’s going to leave town, and then he changes his mind, and then he changes it again. He’s on his way out. Then he stops. Then, he’s summoned to the ranch by Victor. The only place Matt should be summoned is to the police station. There’s a reason so many people want him gone. He raped Sharon. He tried to kill Noah. He tried to blow up Sharon, Nick, Adam, and Noah in an abandoned gas station in Las Vegas.Sure, Matt got hit on the head, and now he feels bad that he did all these things, but who’s to say he’s not going to bump his noggin on the revolving door at the GCAC and rediscover his inherent evilness? Why isn’t Christine showing up on Matt’s doorstep with police and a warrant for his arrest? It’d certainly "bug" (no pun intended) Phyllis if Cricket were to arrest her pal.Member of the Wedding ReceptionAudra and Chelsea | Image: JPIAdam is coming to Billy and Sally’s wedding because his girlfriend is Chelsea, and Chelsea’s a part of the wedding party. But he shouldn’t attend. He should stay home. Adam killed Billy’s daughter, Delia. Yeah, it was an accident, but Billy’s never going to get over that – nor should he.Audra was 100% correct when she pointed out that just because Chelsea was coming to the wedding, it didn't mean Adam had to. In fact, Chelsea could stay home, too. Audra is quite jealous of anyone who wants to get too close to her pal, Sally. It’s totally understandable. Audra hasn’t had many female friends over the years. She’s just never attracted them into her life. Sally doesn’t have too many either. The tension between Audra and Chelsea is intense. Chelsea was put off when she saw Audra take out her phone while she was trying to speak with her. Audra announced that she had just sent Chelsea her contact information (so she wasn’t truly ignoring her).Audra put the fact that Chelsea cheated with Adam when he was still with Sally on the table. It’s not just mere jealousy or fear of being replaced that’s concerning to Audra. Her concerns about Chelsea aren’t unfounded. Will they put their differences aside so that Sally can have a happy day?Lily’s Cancer ScareLily and Nate | Image: CBSLily shared with Nate her concern that her cancer could be returning. But why hasn’t she turned to Cane? He certainly helped her when she originally had the disease. Whether or not Lily has cancer, the question is, why didn’t she turn to Cane first? How will he respond when he discovers that Lily didn’t reach out to him first? Trust is a big part of any successful relationship. If Lily doesn't have that with Cane, can the two truly make a go of their relationship again?
