Last year, The Young and the Restless pulled out all the stops to celebrate Nikki Newman's birthday with a gala at the jazz lounge! Now, Nikki's portrayer, Melody Thomas Scott, is celebrating something special, too. It's her 47th anniversary in Genoa City. Scott, Y&R's then-producer, in 1985. The two were honored in 2024 with the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for their contributions to daytime programming. Now, Y&R is honoring the star with a clip from her early days on the show. In it, Casey (Roberta Leighton), Nikki's sister, confronts Nikki over her exotic dancing. While Nikki had been vague about her job in the arts, Casey got wind of what her sister was truly up to -- stripping! In the scene above, you can see Casey probe Nikki, hoping, perhaps, that she'll come clean about her activities. Casey inquires as to where her sister has been. "At work, yeah, I'm exhausted," Nikki responds, hoping Casey doesn't press her for specifics. Casey deadpans, "I can imagine." Asked to elaborate on her new gig, Nikki shared that it's something that she was very good at doing. "You know, I've asked you a number of times to tell me about your job, and you've always refused to talk about it," Casey stated. Eventually, Nikki picked up on the fact that her sister knew exactly what she'd been up to and how she'd been earning some money. "Yeah, I know all about this job of yours," Casey cracked. Off Nikki's inquiry as to how Casey learned about her work, she replied, "I was there tonight, lady, and I saw it all." Casey went on to insist that Nikki tell her about her job, and she might have learned to be careful for what you wish for!
