The Young and the Restless hot plots this week are kicking into high gear as Victor makes a shocking decision to help Nick, Lily sees Cane in a new light, and there's an update about Malcolm's condition.
Victor takes control, The Young and the Restless

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is fond of his family, and he loves being in charge. But can those two desires co-exist when Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is on the loose and when Nick (Joshua Morrow), Victor's son, is hooked on pills? Perhaps even The Great Victor Newman (TGVN) needs some help these days. Watch for Victor to make a shocking decision to help Nick.
Does this mean that he's going to enlist help from people he might not normally reach out to for aid? He's not the only Newman who may feel that assistance outside the family is needed. Watch for Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to seek Jack's (Peter Bergman) help. Will Nick's stepfather, who has battled addiction issues, be the person who can help the Newman heir finally get the help he needs?
Medical update

Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) has gotten a bone marrow transplant off-camera from his former son-in-law, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). His loved ones are optimistic that he is going to get well. This week, watch for Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) and Stephanie and Malcolm's son, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), to get news on Malcolm's condition. Is it good news or bad?
If Malcolm gets better, though, there's still drama ahead. Stephanie may be an excellent doctor, making sure her former lover gets the right medical care, but there's a big question looming. Why didn't she unite Nathan and Malcolm decades ago, especially after the man Nathan thought was his dad (Jerry) passed away?
Stephanie suggested tabling discussions about the past until Malcolm's health was addressed. Will she be open to delving into her decisions if the news about Malcolm is positive?
Hey, Abbott

We haven't seen much of Diane (Susan Walters) since she had the nightmare that Jack and Patty (Stacy Haiduk) were back together. By week's end, Kyle (Michael Mealor) is going to give his father some surprising news about Diane. Has Diane left town to rethink her future? Will Kyle tell his dad that Diane is ready to give her marriage another shot?
Patty is waiting in the wings, hoping to have another chance with Jack. However, she has more to worry about than Jack changing his mind. Watch for Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to give Patty a history lesson. Phyllis has commented a few times that Patty endangered Summer's life by exposing her to her peanut allergy. Will Phyllis once again throw that horrible move that Patty made against Summer in her face?
