The Young and the Restless is hitting the May Sweeps ground running with stories involving the Newman, Abbott, and Winters families, as volatile instigators, including Phyllis Summers and Matt Clark, stir the pot!

Danger, deception, and drama

Victor (Eric Braeden) doesn't have control of Newman Enterprises back yet, but he's not giving up until he does! The mustached mogul will not apologize to Diane (Susan Walters), who likely blames her ex-husband for throwing a wrench into her current marriage.

Jack (Peter Bergman) thought about allying himself with Patty (Stacy Haiduk) to convince Diane that he did not cheat on her, but he thought better of trying to rely on Patty for anything! Watch for Jack to set some boundaries with his ex-wife.

Ironically, Victor's marriage to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) remains on the rocks, and they may not be getting back together as both are going to reject an opportunity to reconcile!

In other Newman drama, the family is going to face jeopardy once again as because Matt Clark is making his way from the desert back to Genoa City, having survived whatever Sienna (Tamara Braun) may or may not have done to him in Las Vegas.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) has admitted to Victor that he has a problem with fentanyl. Will he be sharing his challenges with other family members? Watch for him to reveal a secret with Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

Phyllis, it sure isn't you

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) may only be able to hide behind her "Victor did it, so why can't I?" defense for so long. Christine (Lauralee Bell) is going to back Phyllis into a corner this week. She's not the only one who's going to put pressure on the fiery redhead. Watch for Lauren (Tracey Bregman) to give her pal a warning.

Phyllis isn't just concerned about Summers Conglomorate and hanging onto her power. She is going to be troubled by Nick's behavior. Nick is probably the one person who could reach Phyllis emotionally. He's not only the father of her daughter, Summer, but she's also her video-game-playing buddy!

Miracle for Malcolm

Lily's (Christel Khalil) heart was lightened when she learned that her ex-husband, Cane (Billy Flynn), was a match for her biological dad, Malcolm (Shemar Moore), who has aplastic anemia.

However, Cane can't help Malcolm if he doesn't have his freedom. If he's dragged into Christine's case against Phyllis, he's not going to be in a position to help anyone! Watch for Lily to try to help Malcolm, only to find her efforts thwarted. Does Malcolm have time for everything to get straightened out? Or will there be another twist related to his finding a donor who's a match?

Watch for Cane to make a promise to Lily. The man developed the AI program so that he could use it, in part, to re-win Lily's heart. That hasn't worked out too well, but now he has another chance to be there for the woman he loves.
