The Young and the Restless real-life mom Melissa Ordway speaks out on the Dominic kidnapping storyline 

The Young and the Restless characters Abby and Devon are living every parent’s worst nightmare now that their son, Dominic, has gone missing. Real-life mother of two, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby, is speaking out on this dramatic tale that has shifted Devon and Abby to the front-burner of the Y&R storyline stove

The Young and the Restless, where’s Dominic

Ordway told Soap Opera Digest that it must be intimidating for a young actor, like Ethan Ray Clark, who’s the new Dominic on Y&R, to go on set and learn who his new parents are. “It’s such a weird world,” mused the actress.

She, Bryton James (Devon), and Clark had a fun snowball fight using the fake snow on the set to, well, break the ice. “He was like, ‘Okay, you’re fun. We can do this,'" shared Ordway.

It won’t take long for Abby and Devon to figure out that Dominic isn’t just playing hide and seek. The youngest has gone missing, sending his parents into an emotional tailspin. Abby will suspect that her son has run afoul of someone who is looking to even a score with her powerful grandfather, Victor (Eric Braeden).

“I had kind of heard that there was something coming up for Abby and Devon, and I didn’t really know what it was,” Ordway shared. When she learned that the show was casting a new Dominic (and aging him), she realized it might have something to do with her character’s son.

A mother’s anguish on The Young and the Restless

Ordway said that her real-life mama bear comes out quickly in life when it comes to the welfare of her daughters, but she can’t even imagine what it would be like to go through what Abby and Devon are about to experience.

As viewers saw, it’s Mariah (Camryn Grimes), who has taken the boy she carried to term as Abby and Devon’s surrogate. Mariah, who has been going through an emotional ordeal since last summer, has conjured up a vision of Ian Ward (Ray Wise), who has put it in her head that Mariah needs to be with Dominic.

Ironically, this isn’t the first time that Dominic has been kidnapped. When Mariah was pregnant with him, she was taken by Stitch (Sean Carrigan), who was hoping to play hero, re-winning Abby’s love in the process. In that case, Abby was able to convince her ex to do the right thing. Who’s going to come to Dominic’s rescue this time?
