Here's your recap for The Young and the Restless episode for Thursday, August 13, 2026, as Nick learned Marie's fate, Billy presented a theory to both Jack and Billy; also, Victor and Nikki returned to Genoa City.
Homecoming
Sharon met with Mariah and gave her an update on Nick. Meanwhile, Victor and Nikki arrived home from Italy. Victoria and her parents were deeply worried about Nicholas. Nikki said that she was not in danger of relapsing. Sharon joined her former in-laws at the ranch. Nikki thanked Sharon for helping Nick. Sharon said that Nick seemed overwhelmed, and he felt guilt and shame. Sharon said that Nick seemed lost. She recounted that what happened at the motel was ugly. Nikki wondered if Nick was ready for this fight.
Sharon revealed that there was only so much that Nick was willing to share. She saw shock on Nick's face as he realized how difficult the fight was going to be. Vicki got agitated and rattled off some ideas on how to get Nick some help. Vicki said that Nick needed everyone to support him.
Nikki gently told her daughter that Nick had to want to help himself. Sharon said that she didn't want to add to the stress, adding that she let Nick know that they all have unconditional love for him. Nick can call anyone day or night, and they'll be by his side. Nikki prayed that Nick would find strength.
Later, Victor and Nikki were alone. Nikki said that she was holding onto the hope that Nick would pull through. She lamented that this wasn't the honeymoon they had in mind. Victor reminded Nikki that they've had many honeymoons and adventures, and they will again. Nikki said that she was scared because nobody could get clean for Nick, except Nick. Victor said that his son was a fighter. Nikki said that addicts realize how difficult it will be to stay sober. Victor said that Nick knows now he has to fight.
The Nick of Time
Nick attended an addicts meeting, recapping for the other attendees his going to a family event and then the dream he had in the motel room about his life. He said the dream scared him straight. Then, he met a woman, and they took drugs together. He said the woman almost died, but he got her breathing again and called the EMTS. "It sounds like you saved her life," a woman's voice said.
Nick looked up and saw that the woman was Marie. She sat down next to him. The other addicts didn't know that Marie was the woman Nick saved. Nick said that no one has to feel bad as he looked at Marie. Nick said that people needed to lean on their families, themselves, or, as he looked again at Marie, strangers. Marie said that she was showing up for herself.
After the meeting, Nick and Marie were alone. She recounted what happened at the hospital and how her life was saved. Nick told her that she looked good. They exchanged some compliments with dark humor. Marie said that the hospital gave her info on this meeting. She saw Nick and came in, realizing that she should thank him for saving her life.
Marie quipped that she'll let the fact that Nick helped her live slide this time. Next, Marie gave Nick a hard time for not adding enough sugar and cream to her coffee. On a more serious note, she asked how badly she worried him the other night.
Marie said that she wasn't there for the coffee. What had happened the other night mattered. She told Nick to take the win and called him "cowboy."
Nick wondered if Marie's dentist knew how she took her coffee. She quipped that she may have missed a few meetings. Marie said that her ribs still hurt from the CPR and that she won't forget her night with Nick. He said he wouldn't either.
Nick said he had events to go to as part of his therapy. He asked her if she'd be back. "Why are you so obsessed with me...geez," Marie playfully quipped before she walked out.
The Sweet Smell of Success
Jack told Kyle at Chancellor Park Cafe that he was proud of Kyle for checking in on Victoria, Victor's daughter, to see how she was doing. Jack seemed unaware that sparks were developing between the two.
Billy showed up with some big news about Chancellor. Billy said that Chancellor Industries was once on the brink of going under. Jack pointed out that Jabot once bailed out Fenmore's Department store. Billy asked guess who played Santa? Jack feared it was Victor. Billy quipped that he said "Santa" -- not "Satan." He shared that it was their late father, John Abbott.
He revealed that John Abbott had lent Phillip Chancellor II many years ago a lot of money to bail Chancellor Industries out of a financial jam. Billy couldn't find any evidence of the money being paid back. Therefore, he believes that the Abbotts (the late John's heirs) now own Chancellor Industries.
Billy said that only Jill knew about this, and she didn't want Billy to discover this secret information. A lot of expository info was shared at Billy's meeting with Kyle and Jack. Chanellor Industries was once owned by Katherine's first husband, the late Gary Reynolds. Kyle didn't know that Phillip Chancellor II didn't found Chancellor Industries.
Billy rattled off the timeline of how Phillip saved Chancellor Industries. Billy's convinced that John Abbott lent Phillip money. He said he had the proof. Billy said there was an important provision in the deal; if Chancellor didn't pay the loan back in 20 years, then the Abbotts would own Chancellor.

Billy claimed that Jill knew, but he wasn't sure when she found out. Billy said that Jill would rather make her feel like garbage and then tell him the truth.
Jack doubted that a decades-old agreement would matter now. Kyle concurred. Billy asked when the debt was paid. If it wasn't, then the Abbotts own Chancellor Industries!
