The Young and the Restless has delighted fans over the last few years by returning the Newman ranch to a form of its former glory. Also, the Abbott mansion got a redo last year. Now, it appears, viewers will be getting a look at the return of a third beloved Y&R abode -- the Chancellor mansion!

At the top of this year, Y&R rebroadcast a classic episode from 1998 that had Jill (Jess Walton) fighting for the rights to the Chancellor mansion, owned by Kay Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). Perhaps the show selected this episode as we were going to be seeing the grand old home later this year?

Word leaked out via Melissa Ordway's (Abby) Instagram stories that the set was up and Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) would be working it in. There's no word on when we'll be seeing the mansion, but it could be later this month or sometime in February.

The Chancellor mansion debuted in 1974, the year following the show's premiere. Wealthy Katherine Chancellor lived there with her husband, Phillip (Donnelly Rhodes). The couple's marriage ended after Phillip took up with Jill (then, Brenda Dickson). After Phillip's death, Kay inherited the home -- or so she thought -- and continued to live there. In the early 1980s, Kate Linder joined the show as Esther Valentine, Katherine's maid.

The spacious mansion contains an attic. That's where Kay and Jill banished Nina (Tricia Cast) when she was pregnant with Phillip Chancellor IV (AKA Chance, played by Conner Floyd).

In 1998, Jill found documents that indicated Phillip wanted her to have the mansion. This reignited the Jill/Kay feud, which had gone on for years. A judge decided that Kay and Jill would split the house.

Many happy events took place in the mansion over the years, including the wedding of Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Dru (Victoria Rowell). There's been tragedy, too. Kay's beloved husband, Rex (Quinn Redeker), was shot by a thief named Norman (Mark Haining), who wed Esther, thinking that she was wealthy.

In 2013, Cooper shot her last scenes in this long-running set. Her character walked up the stairs in the actress's last appearances. Katherine's last words were: "Goodnight."

Today, Devon (Bryton James), Kay's grandson, and his wife, Abby, live in the mansion with their son, Dominic. Will the return of the mansion be a one-shot return, or will viewers be seeing more of the grand estate? Stay tuned to find out!
