The Young and the Restless alumna, Alyvia Alyn Lind, who played Faith Newman, shares a special connection with the late, great Dolly Parton, who died today at the age of 80. Lind played a young Dolly in the 2015 highly rated TV movie Coat of Many Colors. Now, the actress is remembering the late legend. The success of Coat of Many Colors led to the 2016 sequel, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, in which Lind reprised her role as a young Dolly Parton. In 2015, at the TV Critics Association summer press tour, Parton praised the casting of Lind as her as a youngster. "It was like that's who I hope I was," Parton told TV critics. " I never was that pretty, but I might have been if I'd had all these fancy little things. "But anyway, it's just one of those things that we connected," Parton continued. "I just saw in her a little spirit, that she was her own little individual self. She knew who she was, even though she has great parents, too, which I've met. And I can see where she got so special. "[We're] born, I think, being who we are, and like that old saying 'to thine own self be true,'" Parton mused, adding, "I think you kind of have to hold onto that.
