The Young and the Restless star Jason Thompson continues to celebrate his 10th anniversary of playing Billy Abbott. He recently sat down to look back on some of Billy's moments in which the character was mired in sudsy drama! The Young and the Restless, Billy Abbott View this post on Instagram Instagram PostAs you can see in the above Instagram post/reel, Thompson looked back on a few clips of his work as Billy on Y&R. "This is Jason Thompson," the actor began the post. "I am here to watch some clips to celebrate my 10 years as playing Billy Abbott on the incredible Young and the Restless."The first clip showed Billy when he was feeling down about something, and the character was trying to process how he felt. "It's like there's just something else inside of me," Billy lamented. "Takes over my mind. It's like a whole other person."After viewing that clip, Thompson shared, "I mean, I gotta say, I really do look like I went through something here! I look thoroughly beat up!"The next video has Thompson interacting with his Y&R siblings, including Peter Bergman (Jack), Eileen Davidson (Ashley), and Beth Maitland (Traci). Again, Billy is trying to find his place within the family. Billy's older siblings all share the same mother, the late Dina (Marla Adams), but Billy's mother is Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton). "Jackie," Billy began talking to his big brother, "you pretend to have all this, the clout and...the cunning that dad had, but you don't, not even close. You're no more John Abbott than I am."The Abbott family united on The Young and the RestlessKym Douglas appeared on The Young and the Restless in 2023 | Image: JPIWhile Thompson began airing in 2016, the character of John Abbott, played by the late, great Jerry Douglas, was killed off in 2006. He returned to the show many times, first as Alistair Wallingford (John Abbott's doppelganger), and then as a spirit of some sort. John was either a figment of his children's imaginations or he was an actual apparition who appeared to his loved ones to give them support and an understanding ear. "I only did one scene with [Jerry, in 2016] and he was a ghost," Thompson recalls. "We talk about our dad quite a bit [on the show], and I only ended up doing one scene with him, which was great. Thank you! Here's to another 10!" Thompson did get to work with Douglas's widow, Kym Douglas, when she appeared on the show as Traci's book editor, Zelda Wilford, and a friend of the Abbott family in 2023. The show included flashbacks of John Abbott in the episode in which Kym appeared. Catch all-new episodes of The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS and Paramount Plus.
