The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John, remembered

Daniel Goddard (ex-Cane; ex-Henry Dalton, General Hospital) posted a photo of St. John on Instagram and kept his words brief, but powerful, writing "7 years...#GoneTooSoon #KristoffStJohn #YR."

Co-star Tracey Bregman (Lauren) posted heartfelt emojis of prayer symbols and an angel to express her feelings.

"I know how much you loved him, Daniel! I’m so sorry for your loss! 🙏🙏🙏❤️," posted Y&R devotee Franco Naccarato.

The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John might have visited BTG

Beyond the Gates creator/head writer/executive producer Michele Val Jean first worked with St. John when she wrote for Generations, the gone-but-never-forgotten NBC 30-minute serial that ran from 1989 to 1991. Val Jean was a writer on the show. St. John played the soap's young leading man, Adam Marshall. (After Generations ended, St. John soon joined the cast of Y&R as Neil Winters.)

"Such a loss. I still miss him," Val Jean posted on Instagram. "Would have loved to have had that full circle moment of him on #BeyondTheGates Rest in power, Kristoff 💔."

That likely would have happened now that six actors from Y&R are set to appear on BTG in June as Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and other characters are set to visit Fairmont Crest, BTG's setting.

During his tenure on Y&R, St. John won two Daytime Emmys for his portrayal of Neil. His first came in 1992 in the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series, and his next one came in 2008 in the category of Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama Series.

Throughout his career, St. John received 11 Daytime Emmy nominations. The actor's pairing with Victoria Rowell's Drucilla "Dru" Barber resulted in supercouple stardom. The duo faced challenges, including the paternity of their daughter, Lily (Christel Khalil). Neil's half-brother Malcolm (Shemar Moore) turned out to be Lily's dad.

Y&R cast Star Trek legend Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) as Lucinda Winters, Neil's long-lost mother. Together, they shared a series of poignant scenes on Luncinda's deathbed in 2016.

Three years later, The Young and the Restless wrote Neil's death into the show a few months after St. John's passing. Today, a portrait of Neil Winters hangs in the jazz lounge that's part of the Genoa City Athletic Club.
