The Young and the Restless star Lauralee Bell is remembering her mother, the late Lee Phillip Bell, on the sixth anniversary of her passing. Lee Phillip Bell's name continues to be seen on-screen daily as the co-creator, along with her late husband, William J. Bell, of both Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful.
The Young and the Restless, remembering Lee Phillip Bell

Lee Phillip Bell passed away six years ago today at the age of 91. In addition to being the co-creator of Y&R and B&B, she had a lengthy career as a documentarian, broadcaster, and talk show host in Chicago.
Members of Lee's family, owners of Phillip's Flowers, were invited to do a floral demonstration on live TV. The station manager at WBKB-TV was so impressed with Lee's presence, he offered her a job as a broadcaster. In December 1952, Lee began hosting a 15-minute talk show; the names of the shows changed over the years -- Meet Miss Lee, Mornin' Miss Lee, Lee Phillip's Chicago, Shopping with Miss Lee, and The Lee Phillip Show, later titled Noonbreak.
Lee hosted specials on social issues, including child abuse and rape. Lee's knowledge of social issues proved very valuable to her husband, William J. Bell, whom she married in 1956, when he would bring them to the airwaves on Y&R and B&B.
In 1986, the Bell family moved to the Los Angeles area to prepare for the launch of B&B, which debuted the following year.

In 2006, Lee appeared on Y&R as herself in scenes with Jeanne Cooper's Katherine, Melody Thomas Scott's Nikki, and Lee's friend, pianist Van Cliburn, who also played himself. The following year, Lee was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys.
Lauralee Bell, who has played Cricket/Christine on Y&R since 1983, shared on Instagram stories a photo of herself and her mother from when she was a little girl. She also shared a photo of a rose from her mother's garden.
Lee appeared on Y&R again in 2016 in a cameo as a Genoa City Athletic Club patron, who raised a glass to Christine and her then-husband Paul (Doug Davidson).
