Deadline broke the news that Grace has been cast as Daphne Blake in the Scooby-Doo series (which doesn't have an official title just yet), set for eight episodes on Netflix. The show is written by Midnight Radio's Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg.

The story is set to tell the origins of how the Mystery Inc. group (Freddie, Daphne, Thelma, Shaggy, and Scooby Doo) got together.

In the origin story, Shaggy and Daphne are embroiled in a mystery surrounding at a summer camp involving a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy who may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Watch for the pair to team up with pragmatic Velma and handsome Freddy as they set out to solve the case that threatens to expose all their secrets.

Grace isn't the only soap opera alumna associated with the role of Daphne. Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall, All My Children) played the role in the feature film Scooby-Doo in 2002. Her husband, Freddie Prinz, played the part of Freddie.

The actress has stepped behind the camera as an executive producer on some movies, including The Bad Seed Returns, which she also wrote!
