The Young and the Restless star Scott Reeves wishes his wife, Melissa Reeves, a happy birthday

The Young and the Restless star Scott Reeves isn't on a soap right now, but he is spending time away from home performing as he's joined The Day Players band, which features three other daytime stars. Now, he's taken a quick break from singing so that he can send a very special message to his wife, Melissa Reeves, who has played Jennifer on Days of our Lives on and off since 1985.

"I just got to my hotel, but wanted to wish this incredible woman an amazing birthday, now yesterday," Scott Reeves posted on Instagram. "I can’t wait to get home to celebrate her. I love her more than anything in the world. She is the epitome of wisdom, strength, generosity, inspiration, selflessness, and the list goes on and on.

"Thank you, Lord," Reeves continued, "for the gift of my wife and help me never to take her for granted. Happy birthday, @missyreeves. There is no other like you. My Jersey girl."

Wally Kurth (Justin, DAYS; Ned, GH) is also a member, but Reeves has been filling in for Kurth for a bit.

Real-life supercouple, Ryan's song

The Reeveses met at DAYS in 1988 when he played the role of Jake Hogansen, and she went by the name Melissa Reeves. While Melissa remained on DAYS, Scott went to Y&R after being cast as Ryan McNeil.

Ryan was thrust into a triangle with Nina (Tricia Cast) and Victoria (then, Heather Tom; now, Amelia Heinle). After splitting from both women, Ryan became romantically involved with Tricia Dennison (Sabryn Genet). The two married but their union didn't last. After falling back in love with Victoria, the two planned to marry.

Alas, Tricia had a break from reality and showed up at the church, dressed as a bride. Toting a gun and threatening to shoot Victoria, Ryan took the bullet instead. He lingered for a bit, but then died.

Reeves reunited with his pals from The Young and the Restless at the show's 50th anniversary gala in March 2023.
