The Young and the Restless star Stacy Haiduk speaks out on Patty's return

The Young and the Restless fan favorite Stacy Haiduk is back in Genoa City -- or at least on Lake Michigan, as her character Patty Williams has been reunited with her ex, Jack Abbott. Now, Haiduk is sharing details on how her return came about.

Haiduk told TV Insider that Y&R's reaching out to her came at the perfect time, as her time on Days of our Lives as Kristen and Susan had been paused. "It couldn't have been more perfect timing," Haidiuk said.

Despite having been on Y&R a few times, Haiduk compared going back to the CBS soap to showing up for the first day of school. She notes that the production facility, Television City in Hollywood, is a bit quieter these days as both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Price is Right, which used to tape in the building, have moved to different studios.

Still, Haiduk says, it was terrific reuniting with Y&R pals, including Peter Bergman (Jack). "I was like a kid in a candy store," the actress enthuses.

Haiduk is feeling at home at Y&R for a few reasons. One of which is that some pals from DAYS have also migrated over to Y&R. There's Billy Flynn (Cane; ex-Chad, DAYS), Lucas Adams (Noah; ex-Tripp, DAYS), and Tamara Braun (Sienna; ex-Ava, DAYS). "I'm like, 'OK, this is a different place, but the same people,'" Haiduk mused.

While Patty claims to have been rehabilitated, her passion for Jack remains. "I can't go into too much of the story, but she's back in Genoa City, and I'm excited to see where it goes," the actress says.

Haiduk will continue to be seen on DAYS till the end of the year, given how far in advance the Peacock drama tapes. She says that she's always sad when Kristen and/or Susan leave Salem. "I love that show and my characters so much," the actress says.

Haiduk says that if she were asked, she'd play all her daytime characters. "I love acting, so yeah, absolutely, I would," she said. "I miss the characters when I'm not there. It's like how I've wanted so much to be back on Y&R at some point in my life."

Viewers will have to stay tuned to Y&R to find out just how far Patty is willing to go to get Jack back and what, if any, her allegiance with Victor Newman entails!
