The Young and the Restless star Tracey Bregman is celebrating 43 years as Lauren Fenmore Baldwin. In honor of this milestone, Y&R posted a poignant scene between Bregman and longtime co-star Beth Maitland, who plays Traci Abbott from many years ago. The touching moment is giving all the feels to everyone! The Young and the Restless former Mean Girl Lauren Fenmore Baldwin View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe year was 2008. Lauren, Traci, and many other Genoa City notables were at the reception following the death of Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). It was actually Kay's doppelganger, Marge Cotroke, who had died by Kay's loved ones didn't know that. Lauren had an epiphany in light of Katherine's passing. She decided to approach Traci and bare her soul, putting the past to rest in the process. First, the two women exchanged pleasantries about their husbands (Traci was wed to Steve Connelly, played by Greg Wrangler, at the time) and Fenmore (Zach Tinker), who was growing faster than a weed at the time. Without any malice, Traci mentioned in passing that this was the most pleasant conversation that the two had ever had, never dreaming that Lauren would take that so literally. "I deserve that," Lauren, feeling emotional about Katherine, confessed. Traci hastened to point out that she meant no malice in her remark, but Lauren decided to rip off the adhesive strip. "You've never done or said anything wrong in your entire life," Lauren stated. "Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing." Then, Lauren put it all on the table. "I can't believe how cruelly I treated you when we were kids. I saw that movie, Mean Girls," which Lauren said had her written all over it. Lauren added that she wanted to write to Traci and express to he what she was saying to her now. "Lauren, we all have things that we regret from our past," Traci graciously shared. Lauren pointed out it was too late to tell Katherine anything, as she was gone, but she knew that it wasn't too late to make amends with Traci. "I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to tell you how truly sorry I am," Lauren added. Traci pointed out to Lauren that Katherine would be very proud of her if she were with them. "Traci has always been my favorite character. I guess because I, too, was bullied through most of my school years. I’ve also seen a lot of growth in Lauren’s character. For her to make amends gives me hope. Congratulations 🎉 Tracey on your success and milestone anniversary.""Bringing tears, Tracey!" wrote @jerseygirl1963. "I remember that very special moment. And it brought back sad thoughts of when a girl was very mean to me as a teen. Those feelings never really go away, but forgiveness is so necessary! ❤️."Catch all-new episodes of The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS and Paramount Plus.
