Phyllis Gets a Break
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) knows what it's like to be on the outs with everyone in Genoa City. That's one reason why she is trying to lend support to Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Phyllis doesn't care if supporting Matt costs her everyone who still cares about her.
Good news! She's not going to have to lose everybody in her life. Spoilers for this week have Daniel (Michael Graziadei) cutting his mother a much-needed break. Phyllis wants nothing more in life than the love of her children. Daniel's the only one in town as Summer is still living abroad. Daniel's support is going to bring joy to Phyllis's life, we suspect.
Tough Love from Traci
Nobody can tell Billy (Jason Thompson) that he might want to consider backing off from Chancellor Industries. Well, nobody except Traci (Beth Maitland), his sister. Traci is the heart and soul of the Abbott clan, and she can put things into perspective unlike anyone else can.
Is Traci dropping by to see Billy this week to talk some sense into him? Will Billy listen? He may not. Billy has blinders on when it comes to Chancellor Industries. He believes that if he runs the company, then his mother, Jill (Jess Walton), will be forced to acknowledge he's capable of doing something right and that she was wrong about him.
If there's anyone who can convince Billy to take a step back, it's his sister, Traci. She'll be approaching her brother with only his best interests at heart.
Promises Made, Promises Kept
Jack and Diane have gone through incredible challenges over the last year. Being Cane's (Billy Flynn) "guests" at his estate in Nice, France, was a birthday party compared to what came later. Jabot was in financial jeopardy thanks to Victor, and then, Jack was kidnapped by Victor and held prisoner on a yacht. There, he was seduced by Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk).
Next, it was Diane's (Susan Walters) turn to get kidnapped when she was held against her will by Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns), a cohort of Patty's. Let's not forget about the tornado that blew through Fairmont Crest on Y&R's sister soap, Beyond the Gates, just before Diane's kidnapping.

Then, Patty stabbed Jack, and she tried to kill him again at the hospital. Jack and Diane managed to sneak in one getaway in between Patty's antics. This week, watch for Jack to make a promise to Diane. Is he going to sneak away with her for another holiday? Or is he finally going to make sure that Patty gets out of their lives forever?
