Eileen Davidson: Y&R’s Eileen Davidson Shares Update After Cold Plunge Injury

The Young and the Restless star Eileen Davidson recently injured her knee while getting out of an ice bath. Now, she's sharing an update, revealing whether or not she'll be out of action in Genoa City or not.

Eileen Davidson Powers Through

"Apparently it's true," Davidson explained in an Instagram post. "The show must go on!" The Daytime Emmy winner shared on social media an X-ray of her knee that appears to show two screws in it! (Yikes!) She gave praise to the Y&R creative team that got her prepared to be on camera. Her injury may not even have to be written into the show, depending on the actress's mobility and how the show's directors stage her scenes.

"Thank you @laurenmendozahair and @makeupbyorlando and @mandiline and @tmlorito and the whole team at @youngandrestlesscbs for helping me pull it all together 💋❤️😬 and special thanks to @mel_ordway for logistical stuff!" Davidson added.

She left her last thank you for her supportive husband, Vincent Van Patten (ex-Christian, Y&R). "Oh and @vince_van_patten for transpo and carrying things and feeding me and everything else," Davidson concluded.

Break a Leg, But Not That Way!

Davidson first reported on her social account how she injured her leg about a week ago. "I sure won't be making those moves anytime soon!" Davidson shared, showing an image of her dancing at a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills party. "Slipped getting out of a cold plunge and fractured my patella," she added. FYI: the patella is another word for what's commonly referred to as the "kneecap."

"I'm gonna be down for the count for quite a few weeks recovering from surgery," the actress added. "Thanks to the EMTs and the great team at @losrobleshospital."

Did Davidson go against doctor's orders by returning to work? She's got a brace on her leg, and we're certain that the Y&R gang is taking care of her by making her return as easy as possible.

Davidson first started playing Ashley 44 (!) years ago when she joined the show as Ashley Abbott, the daughter of John Abbott (the late Jerry Douglas) and the late Dina Mergeron (the late Marla Adams).

Davidson competed against actresses Leann Hunley (Anna, Days of our Lives) and Catherine Hickland (Jenny, Capitol; ex-Lindsay, One Life to Live).

Davidson has come and gone from Genoa City over the years. She took her first break from the show in 1988, following the death of Ashley's husband, Steven Lassiter (the late Rod Arrants).
