Victor may have given Phyllis a company, Arabesque, but that doesn't mean he's not keeping an eye on her on The Young and the Restless. Spoilers for the episode airing Friday, August 28, 2026, have Victor playing his cards close to the vest with Phyllis, and they also have Matt Clark reconnecting with Patty, and Jack and Diane starting their romantic getaway.
Victor's Vest

Victor (Eric Braeden) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) were at war for several months after the fiery redhead allied herself with Cane (Billy Flynn), and later went out on her own, taking over Victor's company in the process. These actions earned Phyllis both Victor's ire and, in a way, his respect. How else to explain Victor giving Phyllis her own company, Arabesque, to run?
On Friday's episode, watch for Victor to play his cards close to the vest with Phyllis. Why is he doing that? Well, probably because he's met her! Seriously, Victor may have done Phyllis a solid by giving her such a gift. She has a purpose, a power base, and a financial future. But does Victor trust Phyllis? No. No, he does not.
Playing Pattycakes

During her last reign of terror in Genoa City, Patty (Stacy Haiduk) made an ally out of Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Alas, the alliance was short-lived. (Bad guys trying to use each other never works out in the long-run, does it?)
There may be unfinished business between Matt and Patty, however. On Friday's episode, watch for Matt to reconnect with Patty. We learned from a conversation recently between Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) that Patty was incarcerated. Will Matt visit Patty in prison or at a mental hospital? In what condition will Matt find Patty? She's been childlike at times. Is it possible that she'll return to that stage? What does Matt hope to accomplish by seeing Patty?
A Treat for Jack and Diane

If any couple in Genoa City deserves a vacation, it's Jack and Diane (Susan Walters). The last time that these two got away was when they went to Nice, France, last year with many Genoa City power players. Alas, that trip turned out to be a nightmare as weather and Cane's (Billy Flynn) machinations kept Jack and Diane and the rest of the guests more or less prisoners on his estate.
On Friday's show, watch for Jack and Diane to start their romantic getaway. Will the vacation allow the two to get some much-needed alone time? Or will the journey kick off a new adventure for the fan favorite couple?
Might Phyllis outsmart Victor? Why is he playing his cards close to his vest? Why does Matt want to see Patty again? And will Jack and Diane get some rest -- or a whole new storyline? Sound off in the comments below!
