Nick Newman isn't out of the woods yet on The Young and the Restless, even though he's out of rehab. Spoilers for Y&R, provided to Soap Central by the show's publicity team, for Monday, October 5, 2026, have Victor playing his cards close to the vest to protect his son. Also, Lily is struggling with an unexpected health concern while Phyllis seals a deal!
Nicholas the First

Victor (Eric Braeden) will do anything for his family to be safe. He loves all his children, including Nicholas (Joshua Morrow), who is fighting to keep his sobriety. Victor will take action to help Nick, and he'll also not take action if that's what is called for to handle the situation.
On Monday's show, watch for Victor to play his cards close to the vest to protect Nick. Does this mean not giving him information about Marie (Jade Harlow), who wound up back in this hospital? Or is Victor going to keep quiet about how he's handling the ongoing issue of Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)?
Nick tends to respond emotionally when Matt Clark is concerned, given the horrific crimes that he's committed against his family. Nick may not rest until Matt is dealt with once and for all. He's let the bad guy slip away one too many times, and Nick has paid the price for letting his guard down against him.
Nick won't like being kept in the dark, but Victor won't apologize for doing what he needs to do to protect his family!
Cause for Concern

We've seen Lily (Christel Khalil) talk to Nate (Sean Dominic) about a possible return of her cancer. He's not back to being a doctor yet, but Nate's her cousin, and Lily knows that she can trust him.
But what about Cane (Billy Flynn)? He stood by Lily's side the last time that she suffered this serious illness. Will he be there again? He can't unless he knows what's going on. Lily was already growing closer to Cane when he stepped up to help Malcolm (Shemar Moore) by being his bone marrow donor. But can she trust him to be there for her again should her cancer return?
All About Arabesque

Even though she stole his company, Victor was so impressed with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that he gave her the leftovers of Arabesque to run as her own company. This was after Phyllis gave Newman Enterprises back to Victor, which was only right because it was his company.
However, Phyllis has approached Cane about some holdings that she needs from him to get the company up and running the way that she wants. Will Cane come through? On Monday's show, watch for Phyllis to seal a deal!
