Y&R Spoilers September 1: Phyllis Seeks Advice from an Unlikely Source

Phyllis is someone who defines life by her own terms on The Young and the Restless. Viewers who tune into the episode on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, will be reminded of this as the fiery redhead seeks advice from an unlikely source. Also, Matt Clark is going to pay a visit to Patty, and Sally worries about Billy's lack of focus on their future.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is going to seek advice from an unlikely source on Tuesday's episode. The savvy redhead is smart enough to take good advice from anyone -- friend or foe -- as long as it's good advice. Phyllis has been forgiven for many transgressions over the years, and she has managed to (mostly) elude authorities and hasn't spent too much time behind bars.

What advice might Phyllis get from this mystery person? Well, pretty much anyone in Genoa City will tell her to distance herself from Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Phyllis sees Matt in a way that other people don't. An outcast herself, Phyllis sees Matt as someone who has made some bad choices in life, but she believes that he's a different person now.

Matt and Patty (Stacy Haiduk) forged a fast friendship earlier this year when Patty was on the loose, and Matt had amnesia. It didn't last as their goals didn't align past a certain point. Patty knew that Matt wasn't up on her past, and she tried to capitalize on that. Matt was still trying to figure out who he was and how bad he was!

On Tuesday's episode, watch for Matt to pay Patty another visit. What does Matt want to learn from Patty? Why is he going to see her? Is Patty going to give Matt some insights into his character? Both Patty and Matt have lived outside the law. Patty's back to paying for her crimes. Will Matt have to do the same?

On Tuesday's episode, watch for Sally (Courtney Hope) to worry about Billy's (Jason Thompson) lack of focus on their future. Billy hasn't always concentrated on the right issues in his life. Take where he is now, for example. Cane (Billy Flynn) offered Billy a job at Chancellor Industries.

Billy's got the most supportive girlfriend in the world, and they're expecting a baby together. Yet, Billy is dead set on proving that the Abbotts run Chancellor Industries because of a loan that Phillip Chancellor II failed to repay to John Abbott.

We venture to say that Sally knows Billy better than he knows himself. We can see it in her eyes. It's as if she's saying, "Please, Billy. Don't go down this road again." But Billy can't see the forest for the trees. He's got everything a man could want, but he needs to reach for more. Is he doing the right thing by going after Chancellor Industries?

Will the arrival of Sally and Billy's baby, which may be happening, change Billy's perspective? Stay tuned to find out!
