Y&R Spoilers September 17: Victor Delivers a Dose of Tough Love to Nick

Maybe Victor's controlling the lives of his children isn't always a bad thing on The Young and the Restless? Spoilers for Thursday, September 17, 2026, have Victor making a tough decision to protect Nick. Also, Jack and Diane receive an ominous message from Patty, and Phyllis hits a dead end trying to help Matt.

Father Knows Best

Nick (Joshua Morrow) didn't let a little thing like being in rehab stop him from having a hero complex. He confessed to taking out Marie's (Jade Harlow) husband to keep her safe. While admirable, he would have thrown his future away for something he didn't even do!

On Thursday's show, watch for Victor to step in and make a tough decision to protect Nick. Will he commit him to an institution? Will he try to take legal charge of his son to keep him from getting out of rehab early? Will Victor try to take custody of his son, Christian? He's tried that before, remember?

Victor knows best -- at least that's what Victor believes, right? Until Nick regains his sobriety, though, Victor may be in the right to take charge! Victor will have to risk alienating his son if it means doing what he thinks is the right thing!

Operator, Can You Help Me Make This Call

Perhaps, Jack's (Peter Bergman) plan to lure Patty (Stacy Haiduk) out of hiding by faking a heart attack is going to work after all. On Thursday's episode, watch for Jack and Diane (Susan Walters) to receive an ominous message from Patty.

Is she going to want to meet Jack? Patty has a very unusual dynamic with her ex-husband. She loves him...to death. We saw that if Patty can't have Jack in her life, then she'd rather see him dead. She wouldn't have batted an eye if sliding that knife into him in the Abbott dining room had taken his life.

Patty can't be trusted. Jack and Diane are playing with fire. If Patty is lured out into the open, Mr. and Mrs. Abbott are going to have to be at the top of their game to make sure that Patty is caught for good this time!

Where to Go

Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is trying to do what could be impossible. He wants the people whom he has wronged in Genoa City to understand that he's changed. And they had better do that because he won't be disrespected! Even if folks could forgive Matt for kidnapping, rape, or attempted murder, could they ever forget?

Matt's only ally in town is Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), a woman who is both passionate and volatile. If Matt were smart, he'd take Phyllis' help. Maybe he would, but on Thursday's episode, watch for Phyllis to hit a dead end while trying to help Matt.
