Y&R Weekly Spoilers October 19-23: Challenges, Questions, and Celebrations

It's not quite November Sweeps month yet on The Young and the Restless, but there's plenty of drama, intrigue, and story developments going on the week of Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23, 2026. According to spoilers provided to Soap Central by Y&R's publicity department, Billy and Sally receive a surprise visitor at their wedding, Lily gets a health update, and Nick forces Sharon to make a tough decision.

Next week, Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy's (Jason Thompson) big day continues. There's going to be a surprise guest at the festivities. But who could that guest be? We wondered if Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was going to show up. Sure, he'd been cleared for the event, but maybe he would have thought better and opted to stay home?

Audra (Zuleyka Silver) questioned why Billy had to come just because Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was going to be there. There's no written rule that significant others have to accompany their partners to weddings, right?

Perhaps the surprise guest will be Shirley (Patrika Darbo). We've seen Shirley pop up on video calls with Sally, so she's no stranger to Y&R. But the show has already announced Darbo's appearance. Is it truly a "surprise" that she's coming?

We're guessing that Shirley is the surprise guest. However, wouldn't it be great if the surprise guest was Jill (Jess Walton), the groom's mother? The Y&R Insider account on Instagram already addressed inquiries about Jill, so it doesn't sound like she's going to be there. Fans will want to tune in to find out for sure!

The First Year of Marriage Is the Hardest

As the week continues, Sally and Billy are going to meet the first challenge as a married couple. Watch for Cane (Billy Flynn) to share distressing news with Billy. Is the news about Jill's health? She hasn't been feeling well and didn't come to the wedding because of it.

Will the new Mr. and Mrs. Abbott hop on a plane to England to check on Jill? Billy and Jill have a very long and complicated history. Billy has to know on some level that his mother isn't going to live forever.

Later in the week, Billy is going to make a promise to Sally. We suspect by then that he will have already exchanged vows with his wife. Having already promised to stand by his wife, what additional pledge will Billy make to Sally?

The Saga of Matt Clark

We've seen Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) sacked out on Sharon's (Sharon Case) new sofa, and he's asked her to be his therapist. After all, she is a psychologist. Nick (Joshua Morrow) is against the idea because Matt has raped Sharon.

Next week, watch for Nick to force Sharon to make a difficult decision. Is it about Matt Clark? While Sharon likes to help people, perhaps Matt isn't the person she should be aiding? Will Sharon help Matt, or will she help find another therapist who can give him the mental health support that he desperately needs?
