On The Young and the Restless, Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers just pulled off the impossible: they’ve officially stripped Victor Newman of his empire and left him without a chair when the music stopped.

While TGVN was busy playing puppet master with his children’s lives, he failed to notice his kingdom being sold out from under him right in his own C-suite. I have been waiting, hoping, and praying for such a moment. Please let Victor (Eric Braeden) take a loss. I love that this happened. Not so much the Cane (Billy Flynn) getting drugged by Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) bit, but I also know that it needed to happen this way, or, well, we wouldn’t be here with you seeing me celebrating. Phyllis didn’t just cross the line; she took an Olympic long jump over it.

In a move that left Victoria (Amelia Heinle) stammering in disbelief, Phyllis executed a transfer of sole ownership of Newman Enterprises directly to herself.

Not content with just the crown jewels, she twisted the knife by folding Newman Media’s assets into Abbott Communications (run by Sally) and handing the keys to Chancellor Industries over to Billy (Jason Graham). When Victor sees that “Billy Boy” now has his toys, the rage will simmer like July in Florida.

The collaboration was perfect, seamless, ruthless, and remarkably effective. When Victoria tried to demand answers, because of course she would, Billy justified the coup as an act of mercy, claiming he was merely "liberating" his children from the Newman machine. But let’s call it what it was, this was the ultimate “finally I get you” moment for years of Victor's meddling, torment, and reprehensible behaviour.

Victor thought he held the winning hand, relying on his usual brand of poor theater. He went as far as staging a kidnapping of Lily and the twins to ensure Cane’s loyalty. It was a classic Victor move, made even more bizarre by the fact that Lily was surprisingly in on the ruse. However, he underestimated the pure chaos that Phyllis brings to the table.

Victor Does Revenge Better Than Anyone

While Victor was distracted by his own staged drama, Phyllis took a more hands-on approach: a rag and a "sufficient" dose of chloroform. By physically neutralizing Cane on the train, she yanked Victor’s primary pawn off the board, leaving the path clear for her corporate raid. Now Cane is going to be most upset when he regains consciousness, and Phyllis is going to have to wear that, but the ends justify the means in this case. Literally, Phyllis could do anything, and I would go to bat for her, as long as it resulted in Victor getting what's owed to him. Do I hate the man that much? Oh yes. More testimony to what a great job Eric Braeden does, playing Victor.

As the dust settles in Genoa City, Victor Newman is presiding over a kingdom of nothing. No Newman Enterprises, no Newman Media, and no Chancellor. He’s been robbed of every corporate toy he uses to manipulate his neighbors. Of course, anyone who has spent more than five minutes in GC knows this isn't a series finale.

It’s just the quiet moment before the storm hits. Victor doesn't take a loss lying down; he regroups. The real question isn’t whether he’ll strike back, but how much of the city will be left standing when he does. Billy and Phyllis might be enjoying the view from the top today, but they’d better keep their eyes on the elevator. The Newman retaliation is going to be one for the history books. Lest we forget Victors first wife, Julia ( the late Meg Bennett), her lover was imprisoned under the ranch in a homemade dungeon and forced to watch footage of Victor and Julia in the bedroom. In fact I have another article devoted purely to the ruthless acts of Victor Newman, Phyllis and Billy should be worried. But for now, however long it lasts, they should enjoy the moment. After all, how often can they say they have all of Victors toys in their toy box? How do you stand on Phyllis drugging Cane? Hit me in the comments!
